I'm releasing my first ever game, after a few months of obsessing about the 4th dimension
>> HYPERHELL <<
HYPERHELL is a (I hope) novel take on visualizing a 4-dimensional world, and required building a custom rendering engine (Engine DevLog here)
Gameplay:
This release is an alpha demo, with a single level, that attempts to build the player abilities necessary to perceive and navigate the new dimension that this world possesses. Expect bugs (literally and figuratively).
The difficulty is low since this is the first level, but getting used to the 4th dimension is tricky, and may take some time. I hope that through these kind of games, we can eventually intuitively grasp 4-dimensional worlds.
The retro graphics are not just an aesthetic choice. Rendering in 4D is very expensive (and this game needs a modern GPU to run).
I hope someone finds it interesting, or even fun!
