Love this concept, I'll keep it in mind for my next game jam!

Hey, thanks for playing! Your game is awesome BTW!

My wife got stuck on the exact same objective lol, unfortunately that was the last one I made so she didn't get a chance to playtest it until after the jam deadline :P.

hint Your wife is the old lady on the bench, and you need to plant it near her so she can enjoy it

IDK how you had time to setup so many characters with different places they go to, and multiple events during the day. Very impressive! I appreciate you had the forethought to add the benches so when I have those "aha" moments and I immediately put them into action.

My favourite cryptid is big foot thanks for asking! This is so wacky and fast paced, the coworkers stopping you to chat is hilarious, and so real, I love the sound you did for their talking. Fun game to run around in, even if I didn't know what I was doing sometimes (which is the real intern experience honestly)

Wow, that cat is OLD. I like the art style, very unique.

Wow really stumped me with some of the levels, felt big brain as hell when I finally got lvl 8 done! I don't your level design process, but the basic scope being so simple and the way you expanded on it over and over was amazing.

Terrorist spotted :D LOL. Cute game, and has a good build in difficulty. After the first few photos I wasn't sure where you were going to be able to go with it, but I started failing a few of them! Really like scrolling through the comments and reading the story that way after the levels, cute idea.

Would like some way to see the power, I didn't realize for a bit that I could click faster to jump slower/less high.

Hey! Sorry you ran into this issue, I had the same problem when I first uploaded the game, and it's due to performance, I have since added a lot of performance fixes and it seems to run pretty good on most machines. Just make sure you have graphics acceleration enabled on your browser, I was able to re-create the issue still when I turned mine off.

I unfortunately was not able to find any other settings to help with this issue, next time I will make sure to have an option to download the game to play out of browser as well!

Thank you so much for playing the game and taking the time to comment!! We wish there was more of an explanation too haha.

With the way we crunched at the end to get something submittable, we decided to just make it function as a game loop and go back to fix the story telling later...which did not really pan out :P.

Original Concept

You are a shapeless ghost who doesn't remember who you are, at the start you just see "Name - Gardener" on your grave as your only information. As you interact with people you remember more things about what kind of person you were. There are some basic gardening tasks you can do, but they don't progress anything. There are some other "key" tasks that teach you NEW information about yourself.

We simplified it to 4 key people for the jam Grandson - Daughter - Friend - Wife (no particular order). If we had time we would have wanted you to progress and become less shapeless as you learned about yourself, as well as more things populating the world (for example you play with the Grandson and an entire park area with interactables is realized). At the end of the game if you had time to fully explore the world you would unlock a new cutscene of your fully realized self surrounded by loved ones, gladly going to the afterlife knowing you lived a full life.

Instead we just had time to have a simple concept of revealing parts of your grave at the end showing more of who you were with some text labels.

I'm glad so many people are finding it cute as that was a goal!

Thank you so much for trying out the game and taking the time to write to us!

Yeah we really overestimated how much we could get done from a visual story telling standpoint, even things like the on hover text on the objects were a late addition because playtesters couldn't tell what was going on. I think it's easy when building your first game for everything to make sense in your head, but hard to truly convey it with limited time/assets.

If I could start again we would have the characters actually talk, or add more interactions so you can really learn about the story without relying on visuals/scripting. We probably only got a chance to tell maybe 10% of the story we originally planned, and as you pointed out the objects were meant to be more complex and meaningful...but with the time crunch we had to work with a lot of pre-existing assets from other projects for the 3D.

We're really proud that we got something completed! This community has been overwhelmingly kind and helpful, thank you for the detailed reply :D.

Love the vibe, the music and visuals really work well together, the fast pace feels fair as you can kill the enemies very quick. My only thought is I keep accidentally picking my own gun back up, maybe throw it further away?

I liked playing it though, fun game. Creative use of the timer to force the player to face check areas with enemies.

Love the art style and vibe with the music and how cute and comfy the lighting feels. I could just click away for a long time on this game.

I'm too old for how fast the character moves lol. I rage quit but it was fun before that last time that I fell!!

Nice concept, I like the amount of character in the game.
