Run Giraffe Run is a multiplayer fast-paced giraffe racing 2D platformer. Poop bombs. Spit banana peels. Slip on banana peels. Race against friends through chaotic and colorful levels. Have you tried farting?

This is an early demo of the game. It already supports local multiplayer of up to 8 players, using extra controllers.

I'm working on the next demo version, having more content, more levels and online play.

Full release will be in early 2026.

Check the trailer below and please give feedback on the comments (here or in the game itself).

Thanks!

Yes!

You got the intention of the game. The idea was to have the rats bumping into each other, so that would make it more manic and also more strategic.

Thanks! :)

sorry, i will lower the volume as soon as uploads are allowed again

thanks for the feedback!

Not sure how to progress. I can only click the locked box and the ceiling door, but nothing happens.

Gente, eu sou gamedev e profe de gamedev e um amigo meu me contou do jogo de vcs.

Comprei hoje no Steam e é muito diver! :D

Cara, eu promovo umas lives na faculdade pros alunos de Jogos... Que tal vcs fazerem uma demonstração do Bananitro numa live e contar mais detalhes de como foi todo o processo de criação?

Pode me responder por aqui que eu fico de olho. :)

Obrigado!

Prof Thiago

My suggestion then, to restrict the movement, is to use A and S (up and down), so it's easier to grasp, since the movement is mostly vertical.

Anyway, great demo! Congrats!

Nice game!

I had a little difficulty adjusting to the controls.

I think they would work more intuitively if instead of left/right for the spaceship, we could use WASD to move in each of the 4 directions.

Loved the music!

hey Alex!

thanks for the rewiew

indeed the game was confusing on where to click and how it worked, you're right

i created a new version with the vision i had in mind and it is now working fine

if you want to test: https://hilgerthiago.itch.io/welcome-to-town

let me know if you like this one better :)

hey Guppy!

i updated the game today, later after the jam ended

i understand the jam version is really incomplete, so thank you for seeing the fun in it. :)

if you want to play the updated version, here's the link: https://hilgerthiago.itch.io/welcome-to-town

let me know what you think :)

thank you! 😊

i love that you saw the game from a point of view of relaxing

i didn't think of that aspect for this game, but a slow-paced game can also be a lot of fun, right?

thank you!

i loved escaping from the baseline of using dices, i always like to twist the theme a little 😄

thank you so much! 😊

thank you for the feedback!

i thought about adding difficulty options (in the future), like the game Celeste has, and your idea fits right into that 😊

I could ludum dare you but
oh
wait

i ordered sushi right after submitting the game to the jam hahaha 😅

as a lot of people know, we all just finished GMTK Game Jam 2022, which had the theme "roll of the dice"

my game is called "slice the roll of sushi", and the idea came to me when i changed the order of the words of the theme to "dice the roll of"

and then a roll of sushi came to my mind, but we don't dice sushi, we slice, so i had to adapt that as well

so... a game about slicing a roll of sushi :)

to play the game, here's the link: https://hilgerthiago.itch.io/slice-the-roll-of-sushi

and just in case anyone would like to rate the game for the jam, the submission page is here: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-jam-2022/rate/1617092

this is my first time in the GMTK jam and I couldn't be more proud! i was able to keep my scope short and simple, and focus a little more on polish

i enjoyed my time working on GMTK jam and i look forward to hearing what everyone else thinks of the game :)

the video below is a short playthough, so the game becomes more clear to understand

that's it!

thank you guys for playing :)

you have to slice the sushi in the same sequence as the order

Both bugs fixed. :)

The time ran out when you were at the market, and the trigger to restart the game was overlapping with the triggers of buying/selling stuff after the time runs out.

Anyway, thanks!

Yes, it helps, I will follow your steps and try to fix the bugs (both are bugs haha)

I'll comment here one I did, hopefully this week.

Thanks a lot! :)

Thanks for letting me know. :)
Do you remember if the music was over? This can help me find out how much game time had passed.

Thanks! ^^

Thanks! :D
