Awesome game! Super simple and super fun! Music goes along very well with everything. Being able to buy upgrades between each run really makes this quite addictive to keep going. Nice job, love it!

Great start to a game! What you have now is all of the basics needed for a great game. The cards, equipment, combinations, battles, all of these things are very well done! Now all you really need is that UI/UX/Game Feel polish. Things like highlighting or enlarging cards as you hover them, showing feedback when you drag cards around, highlighting targets when you hold a card over them, some sort of animations when things are attacking or being attacked. You have a really great framework here, and I hope you keep building it out! Great work!
Fun game! The basic game loop is nice, movement and shooting feels nice, and going back and forth between enemies and doing math problems is a lot of fun! It is pretty difficult though! The gunplay itself is fairly easy, the math problems are fairly easy, but combining the two with the current amount of enemies and the ammo rewarded feels like it needs some more tuning. It's a great idea and I hope you keep building it, great job!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the music and difficulty and ramp up felt pretty good! Thank you for the great feedback on the upgrade menu, I never ran into that issue. Shows you how everybody plays games differently! I think maybe a small delay when opening the menu and accepting mouse clicks would be pretty good there. Thanks, again!
Very interesting idea! The deck and card mechanics are actually very nice and are a really nice start to where you could take this. Some suggestions:
1) when you use a card, discard it instead of graying it out.
2) When you have too many cards in your hand you can't read all of what the cards say, so would be nice if the hovered card stood out a bit more.
3) Some feedback when you play a card would be nice because right now you click to use a card and you can't really tell anything different is happening
Great job, keep building it!
Wow this was so much fun! It took me a long time to figure out how everything worked exactly and why my evidence was going down, so maybe some kind of tutorial/introduction would make that a little bit better. But this was an awesome idea. Once you get the movement down it's actually a lot of fun flying around as the knife. The press R to load last checkpoint I think only works if you are on the ground? I made it to the very end and got stuck in the fire escape somehow wedged between the railing and the stairs, so I think the game thought I was still in the air and pressing R at that point did nothing so that was unfortunate. But this is a really great idea and very fun to play, great job!
Nice game! Art and music are both awesome! Really like the parallax background and the the shotgun can fire in time with the music. Movement and shooting felt good, and it was nice having the hearts drop because it was fairly difficult to dodge all of the bullets. The weapon variety was nice and they were all fun to use. I was able to cheese the final boss though by shooting him from offscreen with the shotgun. Very fun game, great work!
Very interesting idea! I think the game right now is a bit too hard, but once you figure it out it is actually quite fun! Would be nice to have some kind of tutorial or introduction to the mechanics. I know those are hard to fit in with the limited jam time, but they really do add a lot to the player experience! I hope you keep working on this idea, and you could have a really fun game, great work!
A nice, simple, Getting Over It platformer! Gameplay is very smooth, and it's very easy to understand what you are supposed to do. Flipping around and stabbing into things is very fun! Art and sounds are great! Very satisfying when you are able to land your sword perfectly into the statues hands, haha! Fun game, great work!
Cool game, very unique twist! To me it feels like a combo of Luke trying to destroy the death star and beat saber, haha very fun! I think the only you are really missing is some kind of tutorial or in game explanation of the morphing mechanic because it took me a little while to figure it out. The controls were nice, gameplay was very smooth, and the music was awesome! Great work!
Nice little shooter you have made! I did experience some small stuttering at the start of waves and when enemies spawned, but I'm guessing that's probably really just a problem in the browser version of the game. Game felt pretty nice to play, movement and jumping were good. I think for this style of game I would prefer to fight against more enemies with less health. Since each wave really only has like 1-3 enemies and they all take multiple shots to kill, feels a bit slow in that regard. I hope you keep working on this idea, great job!
Awesome game! You have a really nice basic framework here to keep expanding. Art and music is great and I love the cutscenes! Gameplay feel very nice, I didn't run into any problems there. I would suggest maybe adding some tooltips to the stats screen so you know what everything does, and also the same thing when you are in the shop. You can guess what the potions in the shop do by their names, but it would be a little bit nicer if there was some small description when you hover over it. The UI is also very nice and clean and everything is generally easy to understand. Really great job, keep going!
Nice game! I really like the concept of protecting the player. The abilities were cool, especially the trees surrounding the enemies! I hope you will keep learning and building up your idea, great work!
When it comes to learning Godot, the only real tip I can give you is to just keep making games! I know it's not the best sounding tip, but there is no "watch this video and you will be a godot master". Make pong, snake, super mario, tic tac toe, flappy bird. It's good to remake games that already exist because you don't have to design the game, you already know what the game will look like so you can just focus on developing! Good luck learning, and have fun!
Wow this is awesome! Love the claymation art style, very unique! The gameplay is simple and very easy to understand, so good job there. Difficulty curb does ramp up pretty hard, but I'm sure if you really spend some time learning the terrain mechanics it can probably be kind of easy. Upgrades felt good except for the split shot. Maybe for the split shot upgrade you could try having one projectile shoot straight and the other projectile go randomly in a cone? Something to think about. A lot of fun, very charming, great job!
Great job! I really enjoyed this take on the theme. A nice combo between resource management and platforming. Having the different effects for night time and day time is a nice touch. Art and music are awesome as well. I had a lot of fun playing this, and I didn't encounter any issues. Awesome game!
Awesome! Love the art and music, and I really like the ragdoll character with the sword just pulling him around, very funny! Gameplay overall felt pretty smooth, but I wish the enemies spawned in a little bit faster. Unfortunately the game crashes after about 30 seconds, so hopefully you can figure that out. Great work!
Good job! I think you have a really nice start to a game here. The dungeon layout is nice and doesn't feel like I'm going in circles or backtracking too much. Finding the keys for unlocking the doors is good, and it's nice that you have the different spells. I hope you keep working on this and building it up! Maybe some more enemy variety, and adding some traps to the dungeon. I also really like the art you did for the menus! Great work!
This is a really nice game! The art and sounds are fantastic! The gameplay overall feels very smooth. The only thing that really threw me off was the box. Interacting with it feels like it throws my timing off. Level and puzzle design was great, and really liked that I was helping out all of the woodland creatures (even though they think I'm stinky). Very fun, great work!
Unfortunately I didn't have someone to play the game with. However, I still played around with the game and fought against my defenseless opponent. The game feels very nice. My only suggestion would be for the controls (keyboard). Right now they are very "left-handed". I would recommend maybe having the movement controls with the left hand, and to put the combat controls on the right side of the keyboard. I think that would make things feel a little bit better. Great work getting all of this done by yourself!
Really nice game here! The art is very good, the limited sounds effects are nice, and the gameplay feels super smooth. And I know you probably wouldn't want to have the manual checkpoints in a full release, but I'm really glad you included that in your jam entry. I think most people would probably give up pretty quickly without that. Awesome job!
I think this is a great start towards making your game! The game overall felt good to play. I didn't have any performance problems or notice any major bugs. The only bug I really found was that enemies can collide with the map boundary, so if they spawned outside of the boundary then they were not able to reach the player.
Some suggestions:
1. Since the idea is that you are a weapon waiting for the wielder to show up, maybe have each level have a timer that increases as you level up. The timer would simulate the wielder finally getting to you.
2. Have the weapon not kill all enemies globally, and remove the healing.
3. If you survive long enough for the wielder to show up (timer reaches 0) offer an upgrade to the player. These upgrades could be like: attack damage, attack range, move speed, healing effect, etc. This is what will really shape your game.
Great work on this game so far! Keep learning and making it better!
Really nice game here in my opinion! I thought all of the art and visuals were great. Loved the upgrade menu and that the upgrades give you buffs and buffs to the enemies. I agree with the other comments that the enemies spawning and just lunging at you from offscreen feels not great. I think it's fine that the enemies spawn offscreen, but maybe add an arrow pointing in the direction of the swarm with a message like, "Incoming Swarm!". You could also potentially have the camera zoom out as an upgrade, or even simpler just reduce the enemy movement speed. Lots of potential ideas! Overall still a fun, well made game. Great work!
Really like the idea here! Gameplay is fun, art and music is great! I like the web that is created as you correctly type in the words. My only point of feedback would be to zoom out the camera slightly more as your web expands. It becomes very difficult after a certain point, but very fun still. Great work!
Nice game! I like that the weapon talks to the player and teaches new mechanics each round. I would suggest maybe having the player attack in the direction of the mouse cursor instead of just attacking in the direction the player is facing. I think that would feel a lot smoother. But this is still a fun game, great work!
