I'm working on a little game engine at the moment so I can try to combine different mechanics to give more variety in one game.

Like the feel of the game.   Struggling a bit in the browser as the buttons don't seem to work when in full screen mode.

Just finished.Took me a while to work out what was going on. Like the aesthetics and music. Nice job.

That's a nice idea, to put a story around it. I'd like to say I was going to do that but ran out of time.  That of course would be a lie -- I never gave it much thought :) I think I might give that a go.

Thanks. I wasn't sure it was going to work.

Completely agree about holding the button down instead of tapping; just didn't get round to it :)

I've not finished, but I love it. It looks great, is fun to play and the atmospherics are lovely. Great job.

Great fit to the theme.  I liked the use of the vignette to make it more dream like.

Love the graphics and palette. Really clever idea.  I struggled a bit because often when dragging a gear it seemed to pick up another already in the scene and then all the gears would start swirling around the screen. Seemed to occur more often with larger window sizes.

Cheers. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated.

No problem. I know what a pain it can be :)

Great job with this. Just playing on mobile at the moment. Love the really chilled feel. Can't work out how to rotate on mobile though.Might be me of course. If there isn't currently a mechanism on mobile at the moment, perhaps double-tapping to rotate by say 30 degrees might be a quickish compromise.

I've now added an option to speed up the animations in the settings.

Thanks for the feedback. I was trying to make it all feel relaxed, hence the rather lazy pace. Perhaps I need to allow the speed to be adjustable? Appreciate the feedback.

Thanks for making these tracks available; really appreciated. I've used a track in a free puzzle called Zupzle.

Hi,

I've just released a new tile puzzle called Zupzle.  The concept is pretty simple:

  1. Examine an image.
  2. Cut it into tiles.
  3. Shuffle them.
  4. Then try to put them back together by swapping tiles.

It starts off easy but the number of tiles increases as you progress, making it progressively harder.

It's intended as a relaxing, casual way to waste a few minutes.

The game really started as a simple exercise in creating a vanilla JS game.

Cheers. Appreciate the feedback.

Hi,

I've just released Scramb2 https://henspace.itch.io/scramb2

Scramb2 is a simple tile puzzle where you need to rearrange the tiles to recreate the original image. However, it has an unusual, mobile friendly, mechanic to shuffle the tiles around. It's intended to be a very casual, relaxed puzzle to let you while away a few minutes here and there. It's in beta so expect some rough edges.

Just wanted to say thanks for making this music available. I used Memories of Winter in a relaxing little puzzle I've put together. If you want to see how it's been used, you can check it out at https://henspace.itch.io/scramb2

Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it.

Cheers. Appreciate the feedback.

Mathio Whirled graphic

Hi!

I've finally released a beta version of my first platformer Mathio Whirled

Your job is to guide Mathio around the factory. Simply catch an operator (+-x÷), then catch a number, and finally solve the resulting sum by collecting the correct coins. Once you've solved it, move on and continue the calculation by grabbing the next operator. Simple!

Or is it? Now do all that while trying to navigate your way around the factory platforms. And if that's too easy, as you progress you will need to rely on your memory and well as your maths skills.

Let me know what you think.

I'm sure there are a few bugs🐞 lurking in there, but hopefully not too many.

Cheers

I'll have a look at the feedback messages and see if they're clear, missing, or need improvement.

Hi Swoopie. Sorry for the late reply. I didn't get a notification, so missed it. Weapons aren't limited so a Ranger can wield a greataxe. It's two-handed though so both hands need to be free. You can only have 8 items in your backpack. If you try to equip a greataxe you will need to have enough freespace in your backpack to accommodate the hammer and shield. If not, you won't be able to equip the axe.  The program will automatically try to unequip the hammer and shield when you try to equip the greataxe, but if there's not enough space, it can't. If that is the problem, you will need to discard something from your backpack first to make space. I hope this helps. I often use the greataxe so I'm pretty sure the code is working.

Different class have different proficiencies so some wield certain weapons better than others, but weapon use is not restricted.

And again, sorry for the very late reply.

Thanks.  Appreciate the feedback :)

Loving this. Absolutely rubbish at it, but great little game.

Ah! Got you. The main strategy you have to avoid death is to use the monsters' movement relative to the other artefacts, manhole covers etc., in the room.  They avoid those areas, but the hero can freely move through them. That gives a way to control how many monsters you need to deal with at any one time. The fact that no attacks occur diagonally, allows you to ensure, to a degree, that the hero always gets first strike.  Finally, there is a disengage option, which allows the hero to back off by up to 2 squares without being followed.  This works best with spells that act at a distance. I think I need a bit more complexity though. I'm thinking of perhaps letting some sleep and allowing the hero to sneak past without waking them.

(1 edit)

Hi swoopie, Thanks for the feedback. That's really helpful. I originally intended it to be simple so you could pick it up and just go for it, but I think putting in some decision points would be a good idea.  I'll also  think about some ways to let you affect the gameplay a bit more.

Hi! Well I've finally taken the jump to let Click and Crawl meet the world.

The aim was to create a casual old-school dungeon crawler that would be easy to play on mobile devices. I'm not if sure I've succeeded, but at least the aim was there.

You take on the role of an automatically created hero who has been sent into the Krestal Dungeons to retrieve as much gold as possible for your fellow townsfolk. The full backstory is in the game.

This probably won't work on older browsers, so sorry if that affects you. Fingers crossed it works for someone.
