Really fun! I was definitely getting the Balatro vibes (started getting addicted to it like I was to that game lol)

I think this is a perfect example of pushing a simple concept to its full potential! The gameplay is fairly straightforward but it's really fun to play. I love how the shapes smush into each other and the arcade aesthetic is nice. Overall, really enjoyed it :]

The art is really cute! I also like how the head smoothly snaps to a direction when turning.

Now this is peak content-

Super creative game! The sound design was good and I liked the funny little texts trying to get you to stay. Sad I wasn't able exponentially increase my money though (wanted to buy a house but couldn't 0/10 too realistic)

Really fun jiggly game! I love the red dudes little faces-

I feel like this game definitely has a lot of potential! The only thing is the cards were a bit hard to read since they the text was altogether and fairly small. I did like reading the results of the roles after each game though. Overall, I enjoyed playing it :D

Had a lot of fun playing it! The sound/music really captured the going on a quest vibe. I did run into a couple of bugs though (rotation also only happening in some playthroughs, being able to get the next ability immediately if you spam click the boss after receiving one). Still overall, really solid concept :D

Thank you! I did have a hard time balancing the snake movement (responsiveness/stability) to try to make the snake fairly easy to control but also not spazz out too much. If I ever go back to this I would probably have to tune the physics more-

Thank you very much! :D

That makes sense, thank you for the response!

Hi! I just added a License file to the repository. Could my submission still be considered for the category, or is it too late as the file was added after the submission deadline?

Thank you! I'm glad someone read my mini story :D

Also, yeah the bug is pretty annoying... I encountered it a little bit when I was playing, but I forgot to put out a fix before the deadline. I'll probably reupload my game with a bunch of bug fixes after the jam is over :]

Thank you! Yeah, I realized it's not really clear you can scroll up during the table screen 😅I'll probably update the description to change that...

Just played your game and had a lot of fun! I thought the cutscene was pretty funny :D

Thank you! Also nah, you're not dumb at all- The third level is a little bit weird, but a hint is you can scroll up in the table level as well!

Thank you for your feedback! The sound effects and music were all royalty-free assets from Pixabay, but I'm glad you liked them! I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I spent quite a bit of time just replaying my game over and over with slightly different sounds 😅

(1 edit)

Really enjoyed the game! Got stuck on the third level, but I thought the gameplay was overall really solid.  The art is also really nice-

I liked how you interpreted the theme! I think the idea of ecological/population balance is really creative :D The music was also pretty calming to listen to-

Adhksfhksdhfkhs i definitely was a bit too ambitious with my idea for this game... Originally, I had wanted to add items to manipulate the books and more types, but I got too caught up in the visual details. For example, I was trying to add a reflection from the books on the table, and it doesn't look exactly how I wanted it to be, but I spent a lot of time so I kept it anyway- I learned a lot and had fun though :D
