Your English is better than my Portuguese, so no worries! It will be difficult for us to understand your submission if it's not in English, but there is nothing wrong with submitting it; this game jam isn't for us, it's for everyone.

So what you've made is an educational tool, for teachers to use or assign to students? If you could explain the subject or topic or focus of it, that would be helpful; this game jam is art-themed, with an emphasis on portraying the importance of expressing and exploring your artistic side in daily life, regardless of your circumstances.

This game jam doesn't actually have a deadline; it's been open for a couple years and will continue to be open, so I'd suggest submitting something once you feel you've got something worthwhile and suitable. Ideally, the submissions should promote creativity, showing how being creative can be productive, helpful, and a part of life that is worth valuing. We started this game jam because we were asked by a former colleague to make a game for a student job fair at an international school in Africa, where they were hoping to encourage students to hold onto their creativity in the workplace, wherever that might be,

Hope that helps!

It's difficult to define a "game" but I think submissions might have to be closer to the "game" end of the spectrum than an animation is, unless the animation offers an immersive, involved experience designed to convey meaning or story that fits the game jam's description. Is that alright?

I don't see why not. Should be fine, right?

Absolutely. And don't worry about the deadline, it will be extended indefinitely.

Thanks for sharing your Room to Roam: Bare-Bones Edition experience! We look forward to hearing what you think when the game's revamp and Unity port are ready for the community. Room to Roam's development is currently scheduled for after the release of our latest project (working title: Asteroidea). Feel free to explore our projects and contact Hazy Paw Games if you need to!

Of course! The theme is more of a suggestion than a rule, simply intended to give creators a direction to go in if they so choose. Plus, it's hard to argue that language isn't also art, so go for it!

Seems really kid-friendly, appealing and pleasant! Did not play for too long but already appreciated that the chicken was starting to test us a little bit by changing speeds. Graphics and audio were nice, audio settings were a plus, menu was welcoming. Seems full of potential, and already very polished!

Help Us Develop Room to Roam!

We are very excited here at Hazy Paw Games Inc. and we'd love to share our project and invite everyone to get involved!

Room to Roam is in early development but is already a fully-functional game, with new features and content being added constantly. Made originally for EduJam: Art Saves the World (an educational game jam also hosted by Hazy Paw, that is still ongoing), Room to Roam is intended to be a mindful, fun, and unique experience, accesible to gamers and non-gamers alike. Play as you please and the game will accomodate you, guide you, and encourage you to branch out without punishing you for your choices. Infinitely expandable and adaptable, Room to Roam is ready to grow, and we need to hear from all of you to steer it in the right direction! Educators, developers, creators, gamers of all ages and genres, and anyone with an interest in seeing gaming, real life, education, and wellbeing come together as they always should've, are more than welcome to participate in building the Room to Roam community!

Thank you for supporting Room to Roam! Contact Hazy Paw with inquiries, requests, or ideas.

An awesome submission! We're incredibly pleased that this game jam has already resulted in inspiring and unexpected creations! Could never have imagined the direction game developers would choose to go with this, and this is a real treat so far.

We're submitting an entry ourselves. :)
