This one is really cool, I love the idea and it was funny watching them blast each other in the face lol. This one is my favorite submission :D

Thank you for all the kind words. So, the enemies don't actually shoot back at you. At least not yet. I wanted some of the challenge to come from whatever loadout you got. I'll definitely add more to this in the future. The three icons on the left are this;
- Top is your shot type. There's normal, spreadshot, splitshot, and what I call Firework shot. The latter two emit additional projectiles in those patterns after the bullet hits the enemy.
- The middle icon is what kind of projectile you fire from your gun. They each act completely differently, and I believe there are nine of them.
- The bottom icon is your firing mode. So normal fire is basically a steady paced rate of fire, Rapid fire, and then a 3-round burst.
Sorry for the info barf lol.
Thank you so much :D The early Castlevania games are some of my favorite. When I think of the NES, those games are what instantly comes to mind. Even though I know this game doesn't really play like Castlevania, I still wanted a kinda fantasy, spooky vibe with some funny moments. Your idea for major checkpoints is a good one. Thanks again for playing and leaving feedback!
This one was pretty cool! I really liked the color palette you went with. I also used purple and reds in mine, yours looks very vibrant and the color combo just gives it a real retro feel. I liked all the different enemy types and I thought the attack animation was SO smooth. Having multiple songs is always a great touch as well :D
I have to say, I'm a big fan of spooky themes and graveyards and such. I think the character design is great and I like the rolling eyeballs as an enemy. Overall, it was a pretty fun little game that hit the NES vibe. My one main critique would be that the sound effects are kinda hard on the ears at times, but other than that, I thought this was pretty cool :D
Thanks a lot for all the feedback! This was my first Jam ever and I was super excited to do it because I love NES games and the early Castlevania games, especially Simon's Quest. So I thought the theme was perfect for me. This was also the first game I've ever released to the public. I've been working on games for a couple years now, but this was the first one that I've finished. I really appreciate that you took the time to beat it twice! I'm so so glad you had fun with it. Thank you again for the kind words!
With only a couple days left in the jam, I'm almost finished with the game and I've come to realize that my composing skill is probably at level 2 out of 100. I was wondering if anyone was still free to team up? I only need one song for my game. If not, that's totally cool. Apologies for asking last minute
