I love the Zelda 2 inspo, that game is pretty underrated in my opinion. I like the character designs and this really seems like it took a lot of work and effort to make. Awesome game :O

I love the desert aesthetic in the beginning and the character is really cool! I liked it a lot. Fun little platformer

This was such a fun little game. It really reminded me of Tiny Toon Adventures on the NES. I love scarecrows so that was definitely a plus lol and the music was great! The little guy with the spike on his head threw me for a loop lol

No worries because I'm very beginner-ey at making music and stuff too. For my game, I used two instruments for my whole song ;-;

Thank you so much :D The early Castlevania games are some of my favorite. When I think of the NES, those games are what instantly comes to mind. Even though I know this game doesn't really play like Castlevania, I still wanted a kinda fantasy, spooky vibe with some funny moments. Your idea for major checkpoints is a good one. Thanks again for playing and leaving feedback!

This one right here had some rockin' tunes and riveting, run & gun,  enemy blasting action >:O When I started it up, I exclaimed "OH Yeah it's Contra style!" Also the UI and ship graphics look amazing :D

So far, this one really felt like it could have been an NES game back in the day. I think you really hit the nail on the head in terms of NES feel! You did a ton of cutscenes for this, great job :O

This one was pretty cool! I really liked the color palette you went with. I also used purple and reds in mine, yours looks very vibrant and the color combo just gives it a real retro feel. I liked all the different enemy types and I thought the attack animation was SO smooth. Having multiple songs is always a great touch as well :D

I have to say, I'm a big fan of spooky themes and graveyards and such. I think the character design is great and I like the rolling eyeballs as an enemy. Overall, it was a pretty fun little game that hit the NES vibe. My one main critique would be that the sound effects are kinda hard on the ears at times, but other than that, I thought this was pretty cool :D

I would say try refreshing the page 😭sorry about that

Thanks a lot for all the feedback! This was my first Jam ever and I was super excited to do it because I love NES games and the early Castlevania games, especially Simon's Quest. So I thought the theme was perfect for me. This was also the first game I've ever released to the public. I've been working on games for a couple years now, but this was the first one that I've finished. I really appreciate that you took the time to beat it twice! I'm so so glad you had fun with it.  Thank you again for the kind words!

With only a couple days left in the jam, I'm almost finished with the game and I've come to realize that my composing skill is probably at level 2 out of 100. I was wondering if anyone was still free to team up? I only need one song for my game. If not, that's totally cool. Apologies for asking last minute

Would you be open to helping me out? It's just me making the game and doing all the art... I'm not too good at the music part lol. I only need 1 song for my game

I'm using Gdevelop to make the game. They have a few different bitmap fonts that will work great for the NES style. I was wondering if I'm allowed to use those premade fonts or do I have to make my own. Thank ya
