Thanks for your support and for following my new game.  I've been super busy and have made so many new changes with loads more in the pipeline!  Keep your ideas coming as I love to hear them.

v0.7 (Current) 8th Feb 2026

  • Added 2 more levels, making 5 in total. 
    • 1 Defend the village 
    • 2 Forest Pursuit *new
    • 3 Forest/river pursuit
    • 4 Mountain attack *new
    • 5 Mountain boss.
  • Added a Unit Roster Panel so you can see your entire troupe at a glance.  It's sorted by total XP, so you can see your best units.  It's a real game changer!
  • I've made the screen smaller so it is better viewable on a laptop (you still have to scroll the grid), but it's better than it was.
  • Removed Berzerking code as the new movement code makes it redundant, and it was causing Berzerkers to get stuck if Berzerking next to a river or water.  
  • Mage stats in the SU changed to Heals from Attacks.
  • Added XP and HP rules to the instructions.
  • You can no longer move or attack with the AI units.
  • Removed the 'skip' option in the recruitment screen as it was crashing the game - I never thought people would not want to recruit! (done)
  • Added XP to Selected Unit screen!
  • Reduced the XP increase as you were too overpowered for 3 levels (now 5) - with more levels to come, you would be far too overpowered - and yes, this makes the game harder again!
  • Balanced XP as units were powering up too quickly, or getting left behind.

This is a massive jump in the game.  There's now a storyline rather than random levels, and they get harder!

Here's the full list of updates

  • Added a start-game splash screen to set the scene and give you some instructions.
  • End of level now shows stats screen, recruitment screen, and story progression screen.
  • The enemy mage is now more defensive rather than charging.
  • Fixed bug where the enemy would move or attack, but not both.
  • The movement highlighting is subtler, but looks much neater (see screenshot below).
  • Made the text in the battle log easier to read (see screenshot below).
  • Added a new River tile.
  • Creating a storyline.
    • 1 Defend the village
    • 2 Forest/river pursuit
    • 3 Mountain boss.

Tidy the sidebar to show more stats and has been tidied up.
Terrain impactMemoir has been enhanced to give each terrain real meaning. You get bonuses to attack, defence, and movement!
Switched all images from emoji to png to give the game a more polished look.

Iron Resolution is a brutal, turn-based tactical roguelike in the spirit of Battle Brothers. Command a ragged company of mercenaries across three escalating campaigns, where every decision matters: manage injuries, spend your hard-earned gold on recruits, and keep your veterans alive long enough to face the final boss.

One lucky critical attack and your best knight is gone forever. One bad fight and you’ll be scraping the bottom of the barrel for replacements.
