Sorry if being overwhelming with all those demands
Thank you very much for your detailed answer and giving us a prototype of roadmap, it's the first time I'm getting so detailed feedback too.
A little more crying about speed kills: when you're moving at high speed and ram into enemy, you start pushing them in front of yourself and during this they are constantly dealing damage you, which kills you really fast.
After playing more I understood that it's possible to interact with altar, I'm getting smarter. the minor nuisance here is that you have to stand in front of the altsr as it itself doesn't have collisions and you can go through it while trying to interact and nothing will work. There probably should be a feature like highlighting the edges of the object that you're aiming at (like in Satisfactory (or Minecraft with shaders, when you're aiming at block, its edges glow)).
Also while playing I came across one major problem: collisions. Somewhere camera just goes through surfaces like this, but when you're surfing on the slopes or using hook to pull yourself upwards, this backface covers the entire screen, which sometimes is really disorientating. !mage 1,2
About the keybinds: you don't have to apologize at all, we all have other things to do, so add this when you can, I'm not forcing you to hurry at all.
About the progression: I thing it'll be good to have both new maps (like semi-open world or something) and map expansion (like when a boss dies, it breaks the floor, opening an entrance of cave network). I like the mechanic with sacrificing blood, and small additional levels between larger ones can be also a very good mechanic, something akin to challenges in Dead Cells, but bigger.
About the respawn button: It can be placed somewhere in the middle of the screen, or the statistic can be a little smaller and buttons will be placed below. Image 3
While talking about explosives, I meant exactly soldier's grenades cause they rarely explode under my feet, all other boomsticks work just too fine, opening a full-scale space program) Image 4
As I understand zapper will be hardly reworked in the future, so I think there's no much point in mentioning it again.
And AK has mad recoil that forces your FOV to go bigger than US's external debt (i can't live without politic jokes).
All in all, thank you for reply, I'm really grateful for it, wish you good luck in future updates!
P.S. The sound of obtaining AK and RPG/Bulldog 6 are swapped (the game calls AK "grenade launcher" and vice versa)
P.P.S. Maybe I'll make some kind of teaser if I have time (it won't be 100% canonical if the game already has lore). Your game seems to really have caught me into its nets and I absolutely don't mind that
Playground.ru is more like moddb with forums, discussions and other stuff, also there are quite many mods, I saw some cheat clients so far, but i really rare visit this site, because it's just no point in visiting it for me. About how I found it: i was just sitting there, bored because laptop can't run anything adequately, this week I'm going to take my entrance exams in AESC (a school associated with MSU), and 1535 lyceum (yeah, harsh russian reality with no names, only numbers) and the first two exams were at last sunday and monday (pre-exam in AESC at 6 and russian and maths in 1535 at 7) and the next two will be tomorrow (11 april) at at this sunday (english in 1535 tomorrow and math-chemistry-biology in AESC), and It would be just irrational to return home for 3 days, so I'm staying in Moscow for this time with old mom's laptop, and while just sitting bored i decided to search for some bhop games just to relax, and at second attempt (first gave me yandex games which are complete shit) I came at itch, where wound your game, which is in my opinion the best among those which I tried to play.
Maybe i have adhd, I don't know, but I really wanted to share these emotions with someone, cause I don't really have people who would understand me in this field, sorry for this stream of nonsense, I'll reply to your earlier comment a bit later
The game is good, although not all features are easy to understand for those who haven't read the description, such as feeding the altar. As for suggesting new features I think it'll be good to add:
"Use" button (Maybe default E or F) to interact with altar. Shooting at it can be a little confusing at start and I don't really understand how to level up at ninja, because when I try to hit the altar, nothing happens.
Speed kills. If you stumble upon an enemy at high speed, it'll send it into flight or kill it. Different enemies with different weight will require different speed of hit.
Keybind settings. Change binds (From walking at WASD to ESDF for example, or to bind shooting at mousewheel)
Restart button. Clicking RMB to go back to menu after death is really something that I understood only after drinking 100 grams of vodka, honestly.
"Back to main menu" or "Restart" or "Settings" options in pause menu (which opens when you hit escape).
Probably more maps or map progression, like some cave maps with narrow corridors that'll require player to move more carefully, after killing the final boss the ability to stay or go to the next map (Like in Soulstone Survivors).
Maybe reduce loading time after death, but that's not very critical now.
Also there are features that worked strangely in my experience:
Zapper. It's ammo was around -200, it seemed to work on it's own, like saying "Yo, player, you want me to shoot them for you? Hmm, let me think... Maybe this time I'll be so condescending to do that for you, but this is the last time, understood?". Quite unstable weapon at this moment, as well as the whole character.
Grenades. I don't have a smallest clue how they work. When you throw them, they can A: explode on the first time when touching the ground. B: Bounce off the ground and explode. C: Bounce off the enemy and not explode. D: Fly to Haiti for a vacation by bouncing off the ground multiple times and flying into ocean.
Damage boost/rocket jump. I don't quite understand how it works. One moment I can throw a grenade right under myself and it won't do anything in particular, but when I throw it a little further, it launches me into sky and turns me into a damn suicide Su-25 (Can't say A-10 because soldier lacks rate of fire).
Overall rate. Now the game is around 6.5/10 or 7/10. Nonetheless, I like the idea of the game ant the core gameplay is quite good. VOID has a great potential of growing into something much greater, maybe even a full Steam release, I believe in you, comrade.
