ur right, it would corrupt...The most pressing thing i have calling me outside is the studying(day)+working full time (night) idea.

But as the game is a reflection of my experiences it would be too complex to add a mechanic that mirrored my lived experience. The most I can imagine it translating to its a Papers, Please type of game in which I would show fictional health ailments and documents. But as I cant imagine a complex medical system I would have to use the real one, the real terminology and I have the feel making a game like that would border on illegal.

Im focusing on making the outside tilesets with one goal, for them to have atmosphere. As a yume nikki player (its been over a decade) I always liked to enjoy "the view". As gameplay itself will be actually soft, the environtment and the story should do the heavy lifting.

Curiously, I am aware of Ys but never played it all i know is its pleasant aesthethics. But thanks, gonna check it (even if superficially).

In the end the Glaive mode of carrying wasnt useful to me as it caused graphical oversights (the volant is too tall!)

So I ended up drawing every action in every direction with every weapon and controlled their display and state via switches and common events.

I considered using the backyard wasps event as reference for attack, but noticed using the key processing was too slow to react to my input (killing the wasps is hard). So I prefered to store the key input in a variable and for some reason its very responsive and precise.

You can even keep the attack key pressed and it will go fast and continuous. (Not recommended for the red and blue weapons as they use mp when pressed)

Sounds crazy. 

So far I have two "states", EMPTY (allows regular interaction) and HAND (allows punching/slapping), but i have to implement the 3 weapons which are long so they dont fit the character sprite. I have the on/off state for the UI which is triggered by the shift key so you can switch weapons on the run, or so is the idea. I wonder if I could do something like you say with the "show picture" command rather than an event though. I will check home game3 in hopes im getting you right and if im able to replicate something like it. Im a bit hyped after yesterdays progress (the ui and the shift item rotation)

Question, im trying to make carrying weapons and i have a doubt.

Is the glaive part of the hermits sprite or is it on another independent "layer"?

Watched another insane,more recent, video of him using renoise.

Now, no way im doing that. Damn, I will have to carry my laptop on vacations if I want to learn renoise. I wanted to get a MIDI controller but Im broke this month. Its a pity...

Interesting. One of your more unique designs. I like to think the lamp was there from before crystalization, as it was part of their standard outfit to help in traversing caves and dark places.

Total meal score would be 0/10000 (prompting the weevils stew ending) my stew quality was fine, it was like sixtysomething.

I had everybody in my table happy, except the dead satanist which is not a positive value I think.

I replicated the problem in both versions of the game I own (one which is in my rpgmaker2000 folder, no lsd files) and another in desktop (which runs without changes). At first i thought it was not having the wasps trapped, then not having the stew fresh until noticed checking the stew in inventory made my score register.

-check STEW (SERVED) in inventory did the trick

So I opened the game in the engine and there were many variables you probably have a better grasp on. 

I slapped the STEW REGISTRY line event (on stew (served)) just when you are about to eat and now that version of the game reads my score instead of 0. I can send the lsd file with my save if you are interested. im waiting for my friends to reach the ending so we can check more.

(Sorry if having a modded version of the game bothers you, I was just marvelling at the game inside)

I noticed if I went to the table without checking the stew on inventory before dining my score would always be 0, but if if I check the bowl I do get the points. A couple of friends are playing rn so I wanna check their exp and their final score or if the stumble upon the same predicament I was having.
(I think I finally "got" whats happening...I think...)

I want to make treats for LEWIS but im confused as to how to. Im on combining page and I cant seem to get it right, Im trying to use the cauldron for it. I can cook the meat but I cant add the SPICES or TREAT. maybe Im proceeding in wrong order.

Also noticed my first copy of the game wouldnt make .lsd files, seems the directory it chooses to be saved is the same directory my rpgmkr200 uses for games developing so there is that, I created another folder on desktopfor the second copy of the game and now I have .lsd  files creating.

I will try to keep my notebook more active while on duty and see if there is a software/app I can jam px art on phone or tablet, Im interested to see what kind of results may I get nowadays.

During this second run the first things I did in town were:

Second question, are you supposed to be able to get the home tome at any point of the quest?? I was unable to get it during my first run and I wasnt able to get it on this one. I considered modding it but I need to know if you can still get it after the lovely old ppl reunited.

Third thing I had trouble in my first run is I would get trapped/stuck by the remains after defeating the blood swamp worm. I redid that fight 3 times until I went very carefully to not get cornered by the corpse and the environment.

But yes, tomorrow I will check it out once I get home.

Yes, it is inside TOWN HOME. Its like it happens after teleporting. I was with the GLAIVE unequipped when forcing this bug.

I think I found a bug here, Ive replicated it three times (I'm doing a pure second run, I was streaming to a friend)

I made several video artworks made in pixel art irl, but the registers of those works is mostly lost unfortunatelly, lots of blues. I do have the "memory"(a written essay as last assignment of university) with most of the work I made around that time (oil paintings, mixed media, video and screenshots of rpgmaker, last ones very influenced by CLASSIC GAME)

My favorite work of then was gifted to my partner and Im gonna try to take a picture of it to share it, I think you would enjoy seeing it, it has a very DARK vibe I cant seem to be able to replicate on pixel art or digital art.

I also had a couple of assignments done for other devs games, but that was under my old alias.

Maybe I can paint over AI and check the results. The process is fun. In fact I showed some friends today some art I made with iterations and mods over early AI, that way it was more of a conversation with me and a machine. Thing is, I just enjoy too much doing lines with something in my hands, maybe I could take the renter iteration and create a third thing. i guess it could be a horses and hand collab

Personally im not very fond of image generation (this could become a philosophical talk), there is a joy in painting (the process itself) I enjoy lots, but also its why I enjoy seeing ppls doodles on paper and such because I think "somebodys hands went through there, somebody who was alive went through there with their hands, fingers..."

It is also why I had a blast when you sent me the classic game book (and I hope to see someday the home game ones)

I do recall using AI in its early iterations tho, i used it to make blobs of shapes and then I would draw something based on what I imagined, I guess I was doing the job of the AI in those excercises.

That sounds challenging, if I had the time I would do some animation with the HERMIT and the monsters. as of now im working on this . I wanted to do something  faster than usual. (a friend wants to see all enemies rendered, as a challenge, but I actually want to draw an scene

If I had more free time nowadays I would intensivelly check EVERYTHING (like I did on classic game), but will inform any other oddity I may find. (I wish this messaging had spoilers, I do have a version of rpgmkr2000 and 2003 and I recall marvelling at classic game, I tried to learn to use it, did a couple of neat things but nothing substantial)

I think I softlocked myself somehow, Im doing a cursed playthrough, I didnt get the crystal garden. I think I need one more curse status to reach the last row of sigils, but I cant figure out how to get even MORE cursed. got through the satanist,I went through battlefield 2 but I feel Im missing something. Im working on fanart of the game, but I have small questions like, are the curse marks on the HERMIT arrows or inverted crosses?does the HERMIT at any point wear pants? can I do fanart?

Kept playing last night, barely was able to get through the angels at the columbarium. Hours earlier I was following the guide on the text adventure section and I wasnt keeping track very well from it, I must have misclicked somewhere and got lost, still, I was able to complete it on my own and I felt smart when figured out how to get the las necessary item. Big fan of your games and considering how many years have passed its amazing we finally get to see "the big one" of your work.

I just like the ambient of dread its always present in your games and they are very good at wanting me to know more of it all.

I have more opinions but I must wait to be done with the game before articulating them in a meaningful manner.

I cant stop thinking about the game, I want to do fanart of the hermit and the demons. I wonder if i can take some liberties interpreting the character or drawing him how I imagine him.

(btw having LOTS of fun, got a bit scared last night)
