I'm not a big player of idle games, but my partner plays tons of them. When I first had this idea of a 'short narrative idle/incremental prototype', he recommended I check out a few others, and Spaceplan was one of those - and probably my favourite :)

Ah, yep. There was meant to be a video and I think the downloadable version of the game still has it working. The method I used for hosting the video online seems to not be functioning anymore.
If it's any consolation - the video was something I made in about 10 minutes the day before I submitted this as an assessment - it showed a very crudely drawn earth through the portal. I can't remember what that means story-wise, but past me must have thought it very important to end on!

Unfortunately this build had a really nasty bug (I should have caught it but I was exhausted when submitting!) that basically prevented the game from being playable - somehow the town events were finishing instantaneously, so there was no way to stop them. It's since been fixed, and the game should hopefully make a bit more sense.

I'm glad you liked the soundtrack! I believe I nicknamed it "chill lofi scifi beats to plant to" during production :P

Thanks for the kind comments, I'm especially glad to hear people are enjoying the music! :)

Unfortunately, there is no plan to continue development of this prototype. Perhaps one day I will make something along the same lines - I'll be sure to let you know if so!

Hello everyone - thanks for all the kind words (and sorry for not noticing them until recently!)

This was always intended to be a prototype, and was developed under a pretty short deadline for my diploma. This means no story beyond this was written, and quite a few mechanics weren't made modular to save time for the assignment. So, although I'm absolutely chuffed to see the positive praise - there are no plans to continue work on it.
Or, at least, no plans to continue work on *this* version - I very well may re-make AWAKE (or something mechanically and thematically similar) sometime in the future. I will be sure to post here and let you know if such a project ever exists!

Thanks again for all the kind words!
