was really engaged while learning the loop little by little after a few runs.

this is extremely well executed. Immersion has to be a perfect 5 for this.

I gave this one a really good score.

great work!!

thanks!! I'm glad U mentioned the reversal of expectations, this was definitely part of the intention!

I also kind of went with an odd upgrade system, as often upgrading can sort of actually make things trickier if yr not careful. also, the buttons for upgrades spend your Cubeth (currency in this game)  and if you accidentally run into the button it will upgrade automatically whether you want to or not, making the upgrade itself a sort of obstacle at times. not sure if anyone has experienced that aspect, but it was also one of my goals.

I'm also very glad you mentioned that it is clear what everything does, I spent almost a whole day at the end of development on making sure this game was understandable and clear enough to the player.

thanks again for playing, I'll go play and rate your game sometime later today!

hey, thank you for playing and for your comment.

hmm, I've never run into this bug in the many hours I've likely spent playtesting this.

are U sure U didn't miss one of the instructions on the start menu? I did my best to make the mechanics clear, but honestly I still do wish they were just a bit clearer. If U don't read everything on the start menu you will likely miss quite a bit.

thank U again for playing and yr feedback, it's greatly appreciated and I'm glad U felt a sense of relaxation. I know what U mean! I agree, the game can feel that way for a bit. However, if your trying to win the run and get 200 Cubeth (this is something U may have also missed from the start menu) it can get pretty intense lol.

I will play and rate your game sometime later today!!

U do U man, you could also just take what U learned from this game and move on to another project, if that's what yr intuition tells ya.

also, please play my game as well and rate it if U haven't already!!

super chill vibe. love games that create this feeling, is a great morning game haha.

I'd love to see this.. grow (I'll see myself out) into something bigger! lots of potential here, and has a very polished feel. I agree with some others that the interactivity needs work, but I read your comments and saw that this is something you are already aware of. SOUND design is fantastic, and it's just oozing with charm.

great work!!

I dig the spritework, cool looking boss design.

like the first comment, I am also wondering if there are any controls other than movement, but U did mention that this is an unfinished boss fight in the description below the game,  so maybe there aren't any yet.

either way, this is a promising start. I hope U do something inspired with it!

this was a cool little idea for the jam, and I like the idea of a combo of genres: Tower Defense+Clicker.

would like to see where U could take this if U continue developing it!

nice work.

this was funny, and may be the actual reason I pick up Star of Providence.

nice!

thanks!

thank you for playing!!

the sound effects and the the movement are slick and nice feeling.

the bowling pin ppl are nice.

it's just chill and fun to play.

loved it!

this looks really cool.

I like the mouse controls and groovy vibes.

a very unique entry!

thank you!

it seems most players agree on the mites haha

I actually changed them to be harder to catch like 15 mins or something before uploading for good lol.  lessons!

thank you for playing!!

an elephant neva forgets.

great work!

very happy to see a collectathon in the jam. Love Oliver and his movement. the Trunk mechanics were clever.

5/5/5/5!

please check out Slick-Start if U have the chance!

nice. deceptively fun. the more I played the more I wanted to see how many rounds I could make.

unique concept too, and one slick UI if I do say so myself.

nice work!

bars. str8 bars.

good game, was a little frustrated at times but prob a skill issue lol.

great work!

nice little game, loved the music and goofy vibe of the stock photos. like some others have mentioned it has a neat start menu.

also like some others, I had some issue with the controls but I was able to get the sweet sweet Za in the end.

also, is this Sly 5?

good work!

I love the art in this one. the eye looks awesome.

in general, great presentation, can tell a lot of detail and love went into it. I love the simple and intuitive yet slick -looking UI.

good stuff!

wow. the slow time mechanic is awesome.!

it looks and feels great. would love to see a fully fleshed out version of this! I'd buy it.

playing as the clock only adds to the slickness.

5/5/5/5.

nice. liked the simple mask switching mechanic.

the feeling of being in the sky while actually walking on flat ground was done really well.

I just went for a melee build, was working for a while till I eventually died.

nice work!

nice. I've always loved thinky-strategy puzzles with a quick restart button. had me playing for a while.

very good lvl design and difficulty curve.

the only thing I'd want to add is some slick jams to hear while I'm playing!

great work.

this one just vibes. I was having a pretty good time with it, but when I remembered the controls mentioned the dash, it all came together. the dash looks incredible.

this one is a great example and reminder that game feel is super important. I'd argue it's always the most important, the way the player feels, and your game made me want to keep going up and up and up.

the sound, animations, and the controls and how they feel moment to moment, all felt great.

no enemies, just collectables., just going up. yet It's a blast to play.

the music certainly plays a part here too. this is adrenaline platforming, even if it's not very hard.

awesome stuff.

this is a top favorite of the dozens I've played so far.

great work!!

super fun, great art, and music slaps.

think I'm just realizing now how much I like good water based gameplay, especially sprite-made water. Stardew fishing was always one of my favorite gaming memories lol.

the rollercoaster effect of the tongue is super fun. would love to see this in a full release or something.

5/5/5/5.

fantastic work!

rlly dig this one. only real gripe is I wish it was longer!

felt like it was just getting to the meat. I hope you'll finish it/utilize these mechanics elsewhere!

great work!

ps. the addition of a final endless lvl was very, dare I say, slick.

really slick idea.

I do wish the camera was a bit more intuitive and fluid. Felt like it was working against the flow of the gameplay.

other than that. I dig it. sound effects and overall vibe work great together.

nice work!

this one is pretty unique. reminds me a bit of Party House from UFO 50, which I love.

really dig this one. the wave effect on the audience was a slick way to animate!

good work!

I did, indeed, f!@# up another platform.

good stuff! love the art and overall concept.

I do agree with some others that the difficulty scaling could be a bit more forgiving.

fun game!

love the momentum based movement, it works so well for a game like this.

great work. !!

this was the first submission I played (didn't really know how rating worked at the time)

and it's still stuck with me days later, as one of the best I've played, out of dozens at this point.

amazing work.

yeah, second to what RagingClue said below, the music bangs. it really adds to the flow of the gameplay.

this one feels great to move around in.

great work!

wow, really impressed with anyone who raw codes. this was fun! dig the music and art and overall simplicity, good game to vibe to.

that would be difficult to answer. I did definitely feel for Nick.

maybe I'll get around to that secret puzzle and look at everything again.

think there's a lot to be experienced here. it felt surreal streaming this.

great work L.M!

(1 edit)

thank you! I think everyone is having the problem I was worried about. the character (ron) on top of the button is supposed to tell you how to kill the mite fleas, which are tiny mites. he does,(with a slick shot!) but he says it way to fast and right as theyre already killing the player, if you don't move the mouse pretty quick lol.

the slick shot its holding right MB and pressing LMB at the same time, it shoots from the side of the cursor to the right and kills mite fleas .

edit: thanks again for playing and giving feedback, I appreciate it!

good geme

good geme

lots of fun, enjoyed the slick platforming. bowling ball sonic = slick.

hell yeah. extremely fun. great mechanics, music, has it all!

5/5/5/5!
