Its no worries. And the devs will make an announcement on when they'll release Episode 10 when it is ready.

Some friends and I got into this game a few days ago and since then we've been hooked, especially with the characters and also the comics that we've seen on Bluesky (game lore makes brain go BRRR). Soo looking forward to playing and seeing how the story goes in the next update.
Also, amazing voices for the characters, Darthsuki! I'm hyped and eager in wanting to hear more voiceovers in the game later on.
Already responded to your same question asked on their Discord server but, again...
Both Steam and Itch.io versions of the game are currently up to date with the latest released version. And Itch.io does have a downloadable version for Mac (and iirc the steam version should too, that is depending on if you have a macOS 10.14 or lower version) however, there's no key to get the itch.io version if you bought the steam version, and vice versa. So if you want to get the game on itch, you'll have to buy it on here in itch.io instead.
I'm guessing that they may have downloaded the game via browser (or not with the big red install button while on the itch app) and supported the game while it was free by giving some additional contributions?? If downloading on browser, a pop-up does show the optional "This game is free but the developer accepts your support by letting you pay what you think is fair for the game." choice, and doing so likely made itch think that you bought the game whether or not it was free, depending on how much was contributed at the time.
That happened to me when I paid for the DLC expansion on A Date With Death when the main game itself is free.
Hi yes, it was free to play up to Episode 8, before 9's release.
But they explained in their latest monthly public Patreon newsletter about how having a price on it would help them in putting extra work into making the last episode and epilogue in having the best ending that it'll get.
It's a pretty understandable thing for a lot of Visual Novel games to do as it grows with each new update and features. :)
