Another common feedback item is the idleness of Orbrix. Some people want it more idle, while others argue that the game shouldn't be idle at all. I would like to support both play styles.
To facilitate this, I think some changes will be made. If you opt for idle gameplay (auto-fire), then you get less rewards from bricks and waves last longer between bosses. This sounds punishing so I would like to reward idle players in some way.
The real idle gameplay will come with endless mode. Once you beat the game, you can unlock every upgrade and kill infinite waves of bricks. Really want to nail the feeling of being overpowered in endless mode, and maybe allowing a prestige mechanic could help with this. Although I try to avoid prestige mechanics, i think it might be fun for an endless mode
What do you think? What kind of idle experiences would you like to see in Orbrix?
One of the biggest pieces of feedback received is that General Upgrades dont feel impactful after awhile. Add_Bullet and Add_Damage doesnt impact the same after doing it 20 times.
I am entertaining ideas for how to solve this. One idea is that instead of having all these upgrades, you can only choose one or the other. Would you rather have more bullets, or faster reload time? Stronger bullets or faster bullets? The idea is that you can make builds from this, sniper build, cannon build, etc.
With this in mind, im thinking of adding the following upgrades: Bullet_Speed, Bullet_lifetime(increase vs decrease?), Bullet_piercing(size)
Currently, these are all the general upgrades
- BALL_DAMAGE
- BALL_ADD
- BALL_RELOAD_SPEED
- BALL_FIRE_RATE
- BRICK_REWARD
- AUTO_FIRE
- AUTO_RESTART
- SKIP_LAYER
- MONEY_TO_DIAMOND
- CRIT_CHANCE
- CRIT_DAMAGE
This kind of experimentation is what I love about gamedev. There are tons of potential to make Orbrix even more fun.

I launched Among The Leaves today! It starts out as a cozy autumn game about raking leaves, but it slowly gets twisted as you uncover disturbing items under the leaves. Check it out!

Great tracks! I ended up using it for my horror game, I hope that's okay

I beat it! I really enjoyed it! It was really mesmerizing watching your team absorb the map, and beating every level was addicting. I want more! Himeji was definitely the most challenging map
My only feedback is that the instructions at the beginning were confusing for me. When I saw the blinking colors, I assumed I was supposed to click one. So I would maybe change the text to "Click anywhere to start"

Later Crater! is a fast-paced top-down arcade game where you dodge incoming meteors and survive as long as you can. Each impact blasts a crater into the ground. Fall in and it's game over!
With 5 different level types and 3 escalating difficulty levels, there is plenty of challenge. How long can you survive? Share your high score in the comments!
Farmiñata is a cozy idle farming game. Build your farm with the help of a piñata and a bunch of upgradeable friends! As you upgrade, the concrete wasteland slowly blossoms into a vibrant and lush environment.
