Thank you! I agree the game is in need of some tutorialization, but the idea is:

- A/D rotate the rocket, Space to thrust

- The yellow line on the minimap show the future trajectory of the rocket. So you need to make small adjustments to your speed to get it where you want to go.

- If you go too fast you'll crash.
Gameplay is heavily inspired of Kerbal Space Program but very simplified. A couple of tips are to no accelerate where you want to go, instead try to get into orbit and let gravity take you. To land on a planet this is more or less the steps to follow:
- Be in orbit or close to that, and wait until you are above the place you want to land in.

- Stop your ship by accelerating in the opposite direction you are going. You should see your trajectory become a straight line into the planet.

- You are now no longer in orbit and in free fall instead! You just need to fall while thrusting to control your fall speed to lan

Great entry and take on the theme! The platformer controls may need some tweeks to make it easier to control, but overall had fun!

Thank you so much! We're still running into some bugs, we'll try to resolve them. Hope you weren't bothered too much by those

So happy you liked it, and thanks for pushing through the wierd behaviour of the HTML version! Its a shame the game didn't show the last ending cutscene for you, it never happended to us before, we did make one

Thanks for your feedback! Those are actually the three main things we are currently working on for the next updates, player feel, rope performance and rope collisions with the level geometry.

Really valid suggestion thanks! I'll be sure to add some extra bindings for the upcoming updates

So glad you liked it! I just added fullscreen if you want to try it out. If you have any performance issues let me know but the native Windows version should also run smoothly on fullscreen!

Neon is out now!

Hi everyone, the very first release of Neon is out! Neon is a platformer prototype where you use realistic ropes to swing, fight enemies and solve puzzles through a cyberpunk city!

Play it here: https://guilhermegsousa.itch.io/neon

What can I find in this demo ?

- TV Head, a rope shooting robot with some fighting skills!

- 5 levels, where you'll use your smarts, fighting and rope swinging skills to overcome challenges

- 2 types of enemies that will do everything to stop you

- An aestetic pixel art cyberpunk city!

Can I get involved or support developpment?

As of now I am a solo developper working on this demo (code, art and sound), but I am looking for people that would like to work on this project as well. If you are interested in doing art, writing, game or level design for Neon please let me know!
