The Fire Burns Low is a tabletop RPG I've worked on and had the fortune to playtest for coming up on fourteen years. There's still lots to test, but having just finished up four adventures, I am releasing on chapter a time. All art is either done in Inkarnate or on Midjourney with a little GIMP polish. I plan to replace the Midjourney art in the final release. What I'm using now is to give a feel for the atmosphere and to make it more pleasant to read.
Elevator Pitch: The Fire Burns Low is a level-less system that emphasizes change as a means of growth. Rather than progressively higher levels and bonuses, players strike bargains and experiment with magic. You and your companions play mortals confined to the known world. Everywhere else are immortals, terrifying and unfathomable, they are alien creatures that reside outside the safety of civilization. The GM is given tools to introduce challenges that best complement solving issues and ramping up the tension, creating a tense balance of risk and reward.
