Intake is a short horror game in the style of late-90s fixed-camera horror: pre-rendered rooms, fixed cameras, optional tank controls.

A dispatcher sends Car 41 to a chemical factory that's been shut for eleven years, because someone saw the lights on. Sign the guest log at the gatehouse and go in. The further in you go, the less it looks like a factory.

- About 30 minutes, free

- Plays in the browser, or download for Windows and Linux

- Keyboard or gamepad (Xbox and PlayStation prompts)

- Content warnings: blood and gore, graphic violence, strong language, flashing red light

It's a pilot for a full-length game, so I'd love to hear what worked and what didn't, and where you got stuck.

Thank you so much for playing, and for making a video of it! Really glad it was spooky. Intake is a pilot for a longer game, so if anything confused you or felt off along the way, I'd love to hear it.

Thank you, really appreciate that. It means a lot this early on. I'll keep following my gut with the full version.

Thank you, that means a lot! The atmosphere was the main thing I was going for, so I'm really glad it kept you invested. If anything tripped you up or felt off along the way, I'd love to hear it. I'm planning a full-length version and feedback like this really helps.

Thanks, really glad you liked it up to there. You're right about the chase. Getting caught sends you all the way back, and the way out isn't clear enough (it's back the way you came, room by room, to the car). I'm fixing both now. What felt off about the controls? The direction changing when the camera cuts, the turning, something else? It'd really help.

Thanks for giving it a go, and sorry you got stuck, that's on me. The way on is up the steel stairs in the back right corner of the hall, but you can't see them from the door, which is a bad place to hide them. I'm patching it now so the way is clearer. If you try again I'd love to know how far you get.

Thanks for the feedback, I have just made a major update to the web version which should drastically increase performance. Let me know if you notice anything else.

Thanks for playing and the feedback! I run linux on both my machines so it was important to support it right from the get go.

Regarding the mechanics, a proper double jump is first on the list of things to do, especially since it will help a lot with the boss fight. RE the tracker, I'll look into putting optional tutorials for the gadgets spread out throughout the level. It is inspired by Ape Escape!

Thanks again.
