I'll try again tomorrow with your hints

I went to the right to the islands and pull both levers here. I stuck in cave tunnel. I exploded bomb in lava/magma and it just got all yellow and still killing me if I jump into it, maybe I'm just played dumb here and waste bomb :/

About sound effect: well, idk, maybe it gives the game a distinctive thing but you should make it not jump sound, maybe some graphics feature or maybe phrase when you jump like "eoeoh" of something :D

About checkpoints and dying: yeah I saw when you die you dont lose any progress - that's good, well actually not ideal: box teleport to its original place, but I think it's because you want player to not lose it somehow

Thanks for your detailed reply! I'd like to finish the game and see all of the content

Incredible experience. The game is amazing. Visuals, variety of enemies, abilities, animations, sounddesign, difficulty curve and etc. The game is amazing (again). You guys made masterpiece. Amount of work here is enormous.

Also hitboxes of platforms sometimes feels a bit of, but maybe it's just me. And I personally didn't like the graphics style , but I won't lower the rating because of that

I like this game. The animations are super satisfying but at the high beats make my eyes hurt '_'

I dont get the rules and make 400 points by pure random and brute force. I dont think it's good and I dont think it's bad. If the player dont know the rules, he could quit and ragebait, so be careful with it.

Simple game for 2-3 minutes, maybe more. I think some upgraded version of this game would be good on mobile. Good job!

All I have to say: artstyle - good, gameplay - bad. Well there are actually a lot of things that make your game much worse it actually can be:

1. Getting more debuffs from enemies. Why? Player kill enemy so he should have a reward (I saw some of the buffs but the idea of getting debuffs from killing is bad)
2. Explaining things. When I saw menu I wanted to saw that game gives you simple and nice hints how to play. I went playing and didnt understand a thing about creatures and debuffs at all
3. Variety of enemies. I know it's all about how much time do you have, but all enemies have same melee damage (maybe I didnt see any projectiles or other types of attack  :/ idk, please tell me if there are any) and I saw only 4 of them
4. Variety of other things. It's not about enemies only, the game is simple tower devense with literally two ways to defend: collect towers and hope you'll get lucky or just kill them by yourself and that's infinity loop of doing the same things. I think average player will get bored after 3-4 minutes

Well, about artstyle now: personally I didn't like it, color pallete is nice but for me it looks average. I won't vote low score on visuals because it made good and I see amount of effort

The game is good, like it. But there are some things I've got to say: firstly, I got stuck :( I unlocked 2/4 locks and I dont know what to do, I think it's just me level design is interesting. Secondly, jump sound or whatever it is this it sounds like you equip armor or something like that. And the last thing: no saves after reloading the page. Maybe I didnt make it to the checkpoint, but when I left I got to the starting point. Otherwise I like the style and the main mechanic is good

Yeah, I mean it's not about just me or somebody else get angry, it's about average player feels unfair about game and blame creator. You should make more playtests. BUT, I think some players WILL like your level design and that hardcore part, like silksong players and etc.

Hah, same idea, man, also made paper-styled game. But for me you have lack of animations, that made your game feels a bit "dead". Also sometimes hitboxes feels a bit unfair. Otherwise the game is so nice, like the artstyle and that big guy whatever he is

Visuals and sounds literally carried the game. Level design IS bad. Some jumps looks easy, but they are so hard and dont fit the game movement. I just got stuck in the last room (or was it last?) and I dont know what to do. The controls are even worse. The controls are really similar to car driving games and player is getting used to it very quickly but backwards movement made opposite way... Otherwise the idea is cool, visuals are clearly 5/5 and the voice acting is frying me

I LOVE this game. The amount of effort is incredible. The vibes you get by playing this game I just cant describe. It feels simple, calm and so chilling. Masterpiece, should be at least top 5 if not winning

Very enjoable and calm game. Really like the visuals. Overall game is fine, but there are some things i dont get: why climbing is on LMB? it should be better if you climb without pressing it, because i nearly forgot about it mid game. Also you should add more combos like honey and apple is honeyed apple of something like that, I spent like 3-4 minutes only to got questionable stew like 10 times in a row trying to make culinary masterpiece. And I dont know if it's just me but game screen is only like a quarter of its actual size

I dont feel something special or super cool about the game, but overall it's a good game and I enjoyed it. Good work!

i think you should put scores near the player if you dont like overlapping UI

It feels so satifying, great job! Not to mention little animations of placing things and that help UI below that just stays here in case you stuck. Also i got oven just purple, may be bug with materials and i really dont like the UI visuals, it feels terrible against the other game visuals. Anyway one of my favourite games so far, thanks

I'll be honest, for me this is a bad game. Controls feels bad, especially sprinting that has enormous speed and double crouching!? what? You literally can crouch double and crouch in this game doesn't make any sense. Also sometimes there is some strange colliders where you fall like 10 pixels before jump and cant make jump. Also pause button doesnt work at all because you hide the cursor
Otherwise as a 3D model it's super cool. The style and atmosphere is made incredible, background with buildings is good and I can clearly see amount of effort you put in building design

The game is simple and cool. Very polished. Physics feels so good and the music is nice!
Btw i dont get the theme implemention, game wouldn't change if theme was different

Very enjoable game. Great work! It's actually quite simple gameplay, but you can clearly see the amount of effort that went into this project, so it feels so satisfying. Also not to mention that you should visualize player score midgame. And did you record the audio by yourself?

Maybe you missunderstood the idea. Leaderboard may only contain 1 value for every player. It's not value per name, it's value per ID, your IP or something like that, idk exactly. If you update score from certain device even with different names it will just clear your previous score. Yeah, I know it was 4 months ago, but I hope it'll help you

Nice art. Thanks! I recently made a video using free version your assets as main characters and now I'm buying full version to make the game update and next video

Thanks!

Thanks

Glad that you like it

Thanks

Sorry about that, always making sounds as last step, and that time I've got problems my speakers ✋😕🤚

This is impressive. Might be the winner. Great work

Visuals are good, but I dont see how your game implements the theme

cool concept (actually quite similar to mine), handdrawn style is interesting idea too. It's a little delay when player touches the projectile, but it doesn't matter that much. Great work!

I'm coder on Unity. More familiar with 2D. Can do level desing. I also can do pixel art, but at average level. Preferred time to develop game - 4:00-15:00 GMT, may not be available on weekends

Am I missing something or what? Two weeks are passed, so results already should be revealed. Don't you know something about it?

Great idea and nice story. I really like the game!

About timeloop, using jam's theme and etc. all I can say is that I came to idea to using one layout in levels, like looping your gameplay to switch between frames and as far as I develop this idea more and more game got more and more far from the theme, so in fact game doesn't actually quite match the theme.

Theme is a bit related to the main idea and the concept of one level and multiple playing it

Looks like some of the players have struggled in specific levels, so that's hints to every level in game, so you can go further and play other levels:

Level 1, 2 - Swap in different timelines to dodge obstacles (WASD/arrows to move, Space/W/UpArrow to jump, Tab to switch timelines, A/D or arrows to move between them)

Level 3,4 - Use W, UpArrow or Space to climb vines, notice that there are more than two different timelines

Level 5 - Go to left part of level in the past, climb in the future and then return to past, where you can claim the star

Level 6 - Move the box to the right spot, than swap and climb vines

Level 7 - Move the box in the first timeline to the first spot (left), than in the second timeline to the second spot (middle) and etc. than climb vines in the fourth timeline and finally swap and parkour through timelines

Level 8 (the most struggles, as I see, so the most accurate way to complete level) - Move both boxes in the first timeline near the left wall, so you can jump up, but also go the left bottom corner, than swap to second timeline, go to the left bottom corner.  Here you need to jump and push the tall box to fall, so than you will can push both boxes to right wall. Than swap again to first timeline, jump to the top, swap to the future, and than fall on boxes and than you will can claim the star

Level 9 - In the second or third timeline push the box to pit, than collect key (press E), in third timeline climb the vines, swap to first timeline, open the door (also press E), and claim the star

Level 10 - Push the box to the left wall in the first timeline, and in the second timeline to pit, collect the key, than open first door by changing timelines and parkouring, than do it again, but now collect key in the first timeline

Level 11 - This level is like previous. Firstly you should use keys in the second timeline, than use keys in the first, also you can have only one key in "inventory" at the moment

Hope, that I help you

Yeah, I was inspiring by this game a lot, especially the artstyle

Looks like simple idea, simple graphics, but I like it! Game has a great potential

Fixed!

(1 edit)

Yes, about key binding I forget a bit about arrows movement, but it's easy to fix it, so I'll do it.
About any other things you mentioned: I'll do it, if have enough time for it

I will fix Player Controller, but i dont wanna change switching controls, cause players can use this mechanic to spam and this will cause more bugs

I will drop update with bug fixes and some new levels and mechanics 1-2 hours before jam submissions will close to dont waste time

I will try to fix it in remaining time, if I have enough

Yeah, I was inspiring a lot by it

btw, it's actually near two times more entries, than last year, so this might take longer
