Hey there! Journey SHOULD be completely kid friendly, as to my knowledge there is nothing in the realm of mature content included anywhere. There are a couple of classrooms that have begun using it as a creative writing tool, and I've not yet heard any issues around content. If you pick up a copy, and it doesn't meet your needs for content, just let me know and I'll be sure to get you a refund.

Great to hear! We just did a run of community copies recently, but hoping to be able to do another one soon.

Hey there! Thank you for the heads up, it looks like there was an intermittent issue with our signup tools that I just got resolved. The form should be working again (and keep an eye out for a new Community Copies drop coming soon)!

Yes! There’s a community copy release coming up this weekend actually. If you’ve joined the list, you’ll hear about it for sure.

Community copies are updated on the page! Just a heads up

I think there’s been a few between now and this comment, but after the big DriveThruRPG sale (sold hundreds of copies) we have a big chunk coming up soon. I send an email blast to the Community Copies list every time I add more to the itch page 😁

This looks great! Can't wait to find some time to start reading through

I am beyond thrilled to share the official release of our new creative session journals for Game Masters and Players, Tome! This is the very first edition of this new tool, with annual releases expected to offer creative insights and new ideas for years to come.

Check out Tome for Game Masters and Tome for Players here on itch.io for the digital versions, or on DriveThruRPG for the full print experience.

And, of course, here on itch.io I am continuing to support the Community Copies program that proved to be so helpful to over 1,000 people alone in the last year. The support of Journey's fans in enabling those unable to purchase the game to go on a Journey of their own has been humbling, and I want to continue to help however I can.

Tome for Game Masters and Players is a new creative journaling experience built for the talented, dedicated folks who run and play in tabletop roleplaying game campaigns.

This tool has been crafted to aid you as you progress through your current campaign, helping to keep creativity and fun front of mind while assisting you in building new experiences for your players.

Each week, flip open to the next entry in the book (or to whichever you’d like to explore), consider the prompts presented, and record your answers. They are aimed at ‘priming the pump’ of your creativity, and getting you into the right headspace for a weekly session, and occasionally helping to come up with something entirely new.

Finally, each week includes a recap page to record the highlights of what happened during that week’s session, a spot to think about goals for the next session, as well as a fun activity aimed to entertain and help generate new ideas.

Let’s get started!

Check out Tome for Game Masters and Tome for Players here on itch.io for the digital versions, or on DriveThruRPG for the full print experience.

Thank you for letting me know! Not sure how I got the Players version uploaded to both pages. I've fixed the issue, and they should reflect their relevant files now.

Thank you for the heads up! Not sure how I managed that one 😂

This is a great little app! I've been playing with building non-game apps with Godot, and pulling inspiration from TTRPGs is a smart idea.

There should be a release soon! Sorry for the delay, things have slowed down but we’re definitely still supporting the community copies program

Just a heads up that the paperback version is back in stock on DriveThruRPG, in case you missed it!

I REALLY love this application of Journey! I'm a staunch believer in meditation (though not as solid with my practice as I'd like to be), and using this as a way to explore this place you can go when meditating is fascinating!

This is wonderful to hear! Really happy that you've had such a nice and creative experience with Journey so far

Apologies, there is a very small revision being made to the paperback version that is currently in the proofing process. The hardcopy version of the book should be back up for sale in the next few days!

Spanish is definitely high on the list! It will likely be the first translation I focus in on.

And thank you! The book looks great, and it’s been really awesome to see how people have responded to it

Glad you enjoyed it! It's definitely a writing-centric game, so that's a good callout for folks.

I’ll keep that in mind! Thanks for the suggestion!

(1 edit)

Yes, actually! After I get through this round of release for the physical copy, I’m planning to identify the top language targets and do a couple translations. Any specific language requests?

What a wonderful and thoughtful review! Gives a great idea of the experience the game offers.

This is a downloadable tabletop role playing game book, fully agnostic of any TTRPG systems.

Journey is a solo roleplaying game and an exercise in imagination and visualization, using game-style mechanics and concepts to guide you through the roads less traveled in worlds of your own creation.

I had a blast putting this game together, which is now available on at https://atlastabletop.itch.io/journey (though a hardcover physical release is coming soon). We have a small number of Community Copies available as well.

Essentially, Journey walks players through defining a setting that they'd like to explore, be it a world they've created themselves or an established world they'd like to get to know better (like a TTRPG campaign setting).

Introduction in the Journey book

Then, with a combination of dice and playing cards, the game will prime the imagination of players, helping them discover new Waypoints in their setting and 'zoom in' on new and exciting Aspects of those places and things.

r/Solo_Roleplaying - Just Released Journey, my first solo RPG that places you as an explorer in your worlds! Great for writers, game designers, GM's, and the Uncommonly Curious

Aspect pages, where the cards you draw will guide your exploration of a Waypoint to new and interesting places

I've had some game designers and writers play through Journey, and they really loved that it helped them explore in a more focused way, allowing their imagination to churn out new inspiration.
