Hi Everyone,

I am a programmer and have been for near 25 years.   While I can collect 3D animations for my project (Mixamo & various BVH motion capture sources) it is not my strongest skill.  I was wondering if it would be better to see if someone out there would like to help with some animations for the project.

At the moment the animations for the player I'd like to implement are;

  • Use Pick
  • Use Axe
  • Use Sword
  • Jump
  • Falling
  • Etc...

I'd preferer these to be from motion capture sources  (Mixamo or others, etc.)  I have a link to 2500 BVH sources animations too that might contain all that is needed.  They just need refining I believe.

We can discuss payment per animation, however funds are unfortunately limited.  To be honest, my preferred method of payment would be to settle on a price and when/if the game sells, pay an agreed percentage of profit until the fee has been satisfied.

I understand this is not ideal as investing your time in something that has the potential to fail is never fun.   But I believe in being honest up front so if this is not for you, no hard feelings.  All rights to the animations would belong to me, however if the project fails all rights revert to you.

The only reason this project will fail, is if no one buys it or I am hit by a bus!  I have been working on this game for over tens years.  Why so long?  It started as a small project in Leadwerks which grew into what it is today.  It is now being made in an Early Access game engine called Ultra Engine, made by the same developer that made Leadwerks.   Mostly, I've been waiting for Ultra Engine as it is very fast and the scope of my project can finally be realised with it.  During those tens years I have created the foundations for all the features the game will have, including Voxel Terrain, and I have the exact scope and story fleshed out.

The download is to a really old demo made with Leadwerks - so if you download this project please don't judge too harshly as it does not represent current progress.  The images on the project page are more up to date but are not the latest progress.

If this offer is something you are interested in I can give you access to the Dev Build on Steam.  So far I'm managing weekly updates, sometimes quicker.  It is my hope in the future to be able to devote more time per week to this project.  Currently, I am averaging 2 - 3 full days per week.
