We're looking for a talented Pixel Artist to join Trappet and lead the artistic direction of a unique hardware + game project currently in development.

Trappet is a new type of experience that blends the feeling of raising creatures, exploration and real-world interaction into a physical device designed to create adventures beyond the screen. Imagine something inspired by the magic of creature collecting and virtual companions, but built around its own dedicated device and ecosystem.

We are preparing for a future Kickstarter launch and are looking for someone who wants to become an important part of the project from an early stage.

What you'll do

  • Define and shape the visual identity of Trappet
  • Create low res pixel art assets, animation, creatures, environments and UI concepts
  • Help direct the artistic vision of the device and overall experience
  • Work closely with the team on long-term creative decisions
  • Help shape Trappet's social media presence with a good sense for presentation, communication and marketing

What we offer

  • Revenue Share (Rev Share)
  • A free Trappet prototype shipped directly to your home once available
  • The opportunity to become a core member of a long-term project from an early stage
  • Creative freedom and real influence over the artistic direction
  • The chance to help build something entirely from the ground up

Who we're looking for

We're not simply looking for someone to make sprites. We are looking for a new long-term team member.

We're searching for a committed artist with strong artistic skills, creativity and excitement for building something ambitious over several years. Someone who wants to help create a device and world that players can genuinely connect with and remember.

We value people with initiative, ideas and passion for creating memorable experiences. An interest in marketing, presentation and building a community around a project is a big plus.

If you love pixel art, creature design, game worlds and the idea of building something from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.

Please send:

  • Portfolio / ArtStation / social links
  • Previous pixel art work
  • A short introduction about yourself
  • Languages: English mandatory (The team is mainly Spanish)

Dear videogames enthusiasts,

Have you ever wanted to be part of a videogame development team? This is your chance!

At Piano Bull studios we are looking for multidisciplinary and creative people who want to be part of an exciting game development project. At this time, the project is non-commercial and therefore there will be no remuneration, this also means you will only dedicate the time you want to it, where you want, and when you want. Piano Bull is a newly formed development group in 2021, currently consisting of two video game enthusiasts just like you and we are looking for one more.

What is our ideal candidate like?

We are looking for a multidisciplinary person who likes Godot Engine, programming, but also modeling in Blender when tired of typing code and with a good taste for music and its creation. Ideally, team members should have access to Oculus Quest 2 to meet in Horizon Workrooms and be curious about virtual reality.

Team members should be at least 18 years old, proactive, creative and participative. We will meet once a month to share updates and discuss development progress. Preferably in a European time zone and using Spanish language, but talking in English is not a problem! In fact all the development is written in English.

Do you feel identified reading this?, go on! :D

We will use OpenSource (and therefore free) tools Godot Engine 4 with gdscript, Blender and Github for development. The team language is English, but the members are Spanish. If you have a passion for pixel art 3D and beautiful and immersive environments, this is the team for you!

For more information about the project or just to have a conversation with me via discord, you can find my contact details below. At the moment the videogame is top secret, but we can advance some screenshots here 😉. If you are interested in the aesthetics of the game and exploration/adventure games don't hesitate to contact me.

If you are interested, send an email to ginestopo@gmail.com with the subject PianoBull Studios, sending your skills, a motivational text and why not, images of your personal projects that you are most proud of, we are looking forward to see them!. We are very excited to meet you and work with you in the creation of this vibrant universe!

Ginés.

Dear User,

Do you love playing videogames, coding, making art (such as composing music, pixel art, 3D modelling and so on…) and playing with OpenSource software (It’s free! :D) ?

We are looking for people like you!

If you feel confortable with the above sentence; please continue reading. This may interest you. If you are reading this, is because you love videogames and may want to become a part of an international online team of videogames development, then you are in the right place!.

But first, let me introduce myself. My name is Ginés, and I’m a Telecommunications Engineering student from Spain. I love experimenting in many areas of computing, especially 3D and software development. And of course that also include videogames! (Have a look later at my website portfolio -> https://ginestopo.github.io/    )

I started my own videogames some months ago (I attach some of my works below) and would be nice if I could form a small team to continue developing it through github, finishing it, and publishing it in Itch.io and other platforms. Or maybe starting a new project we all have passion about.

Level designed by me but sprites from; https://0x72.itch.io/dungeontileset-ii

Character designed by me for a pixel art adventure game

The main idea is what follows:

  • Recruit some awesome and multidisciplinar people from all over the internet and creating a Discord server.
  • We’ll create a github repository so everyone can make a commit any time you want (at any time!) This means this is a flexible Project. You only will work on it when YOU want and have time! Remember we are here to do what we love, not to stress in any way.
  • From time to time, when we can, we’ll do meetings in discord to supervise the Project; sharing new mechanics ideas we all have in mind and other cool stuff to add, or maybe talking about bugs to solve.
  • Once the game is ready, we’ll publish it! If it is something decent: we can start a Kickstarter and make it a reasonably paid videogame, so we can all earn something for our effort. This needs to be clear. This is not a paid job; It is NOT a job indeed. At least it is not paid, until we finish a Project, we can make profit of. The important thing about this is to have fun doing what we love. Nevertheless, if you do what you love with passion, it automatically becomes something that people will enjoy playing, and that means money. This also need to be mentioned: You won’t spend a single euro/dollar/pound during the development.
  • If we feel comfortable doing what we do. After finishing some projects, we could think about registering ourselves as an Official Indie Games Development Company! Sounds Good uh?

Software we’ll use (all of them are free and most opensource):

Blender 3d: Blender is a free and open-source 3D computer graphics software toolset used for creating animated films, visual effects, art, 3D printed models, motion graphics, interactive 3D applications, virtual reality, and computer games

Godot Engine: Godot is a cross-platform, free and open-source game engine released under the MIT license. Designed to create both 2D and 3D games targeting PC, mobile, and web platforms. You can code inside it using C# or GD-script (a godot script based on Python).

GITHUB: Is a provider of Internet hosting for software development and version control using Git. GitHub is where over 65 million developers shape the future of software, together. Contribute to the open source community. This is the place where we will host the Project for everyone to have it available in realtime, anywhere.

We need the following people with any of this knowledge:

  • Curious people in terms of technology.
  • Some coding experience may be awesome in any language, but it is not a requirement.
  • You are a 2d or 3D artist or you suck at it but at least you have tried (both are welcome :D). Right now we are working with pixel art but any kind of art is welcome.
  • You know something about level design or you don’t but you would like to learn about it.
  • You have been experimenting with music production or audio FX’s.
  • You have been experimenting with Godot Engine or any videogame engine before.
  • You are over 18 yo.

Current Vacancies : (updated 1st of November 2021)
