Hi!
I'm a 28 year old Chilean film student who loves videogames, and a while ago I had the opportunity to work for Puppet Combo as an English to Spanish translator for quite a few of their games, some developed in-house and others only distributed by them. I handled basic stuff like store pages and Steam achievements all the way up to full games, from the menu screen to the credits. When localizing a game, I always make sure to stay true to the intent of the creators and, in order to do that, I try to gain as much context as possible through let's play videos and by asking the devs about the use of certain words or phrases.
I don't use any type of online translating tool (absolutely no AI) , and I often consult and compare meanings with dictionaries to make sure I'm using the words that best convey what the developers mean, whilst also trying to keep things easily understandable for a wide Spanish speaking audience. I translate as neutrally as possible to avoid damaging any players experience. I'm quick to communicate any question or doubt and, whenever possible, I work fast enough to deliver a project before its deadline.
If you're interested or you have any questions, please contact me through Discord at 964pazuzu. I can share the full list of games I worked on and the results for the Cambridge Institute test I took to validate my english level (C1 Advanced).
Have a great day!
