I get very little traffic from this site, so I sometimes forget to update over here for a couple of builds at a time.  I'll see about getting the new version up here today.

The pay versions on itch is the same as the supporter versions of the same price.

We also have a SubscribeStar page for those who are looking for alternates to Patreon:  https://subscribestar.adult/aftermath-team

You have to unzip the folder for the images to load properly during play.

Just sending a followup.  I didn't hear back from you after my previous reply.  Hoping that you got the issue resolved, and if not you can message me any time and we'll try to get you sorted.

Have you contacted itch.io about the inability to download?  They're the ones hosting the file here.

On a side note, if you're having trouble, drop me a message over on our Discord where we can talk through private message.  I'll see to it that you get a working copy of the game one way or another.

Thank you for the feedback.  The game is in a state of constant improvement, and I have a new version I should get posted here soon that addresses much of what you just mentioned.

Its getting that way.  But so long as its on topic, where's the harm?  ;)

Thank you for the message.  Will keep your comments in mind (What you had to say kind of echoes some of what I have planned for the game anyway. )  ;)

That's about how it goes sometimes.  Good intentions and a couple of distractions usually means I don't keep up with SOMETHING I want to keep an eye on.  At least in this case its an email I rarely get mail through, and I still get around to checking it a couple of times a week, so its not too bad.

No worries.  I should probably keep a better eye on that account anyway.  ;)

Drop me an email over at GateKeeper_A@protonmail.com  I use that address for work related messages like this.  I don't always check it often, but for the next couple of days I'll keep a close eye on it as I eagerly anticipate your message.

No worries, we all get busy from time to time.

Just rolled out a new build if you're interested.  Still need to get it posted here but I'll try to take care of that once I make this post.

I have a policy of listening to anyone's ideas.  I know I don't have a monopoly on good ideas, so I figure its always a good idea to listen if people want to share.  Wont promise to take offered ideas, but I'm always willing to listen, and if I like an idea I wont be shy about adopting it.  ;)

Thank you for the kind words.  I'm very happy to hear you are enjoying it so far.  I look forward to having you along for the journey!

Guess I need to take a look around here and see if there's a work around.  I've seen plenty of other html games on the site, so I'll need to check for what they may be doing different.

That's really odd, I uploaded the same compressed file to both places.  Its really weird that it works from one place but not the other.   The important thing though is that we got you a version that works!

Hope you enjoy the game.  I've got a new build in testing right now that should be released late this week.  Keep your eyes pealed, I always post new builds to Patreon first, then move to the other places I post to.  It should go up everywhere on Friday afternoon/evening.

Not sure why things wouldn't be working for you.  I can download the free version, open it and it plays just fine.

I trust you were able to get the game through the Patreon page?

Adding a Patreon page to the description is a good idea.  I should probably do that.

I actually just downloaded the versions here on itch and everything runs for me.  Just double click the html and it opens right up in the browser.

The free version can be found here:  https://www.patreon.com/posts/inheritance-a6-16907383

If you paid for the game, itch gives me some information about sales.  If you can give me the date you paid for the game I can look up using the date (Sold three copies this last week, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out which one is you if you've got a date).    I should then be able to email a copy to you directly.

No, there is no exe file.  The game is a HTML file that opens in your browser.  Simply double click the HTML to open.

This should not be the case.  There's been an  issue with people trying to open rar files recently, perhaps that is the issue?

You can learn more about it here:  https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-files/winrar-extract...

If that is NOT the issue you are having then let me know and we'll see about figuring out what exactly is going on.

Today we bring to you a new build of our infamous The Allure of Wanton Cove.

The Allure of Wanton Cove is a dark tale of horror in the vein of HP Lovecraft and drawing from the same mythos.

You take on the part of a washed up former detective who could never  let go of the last terrible case he worked.  Content to drink himself to  death, his former partner comes knocking, begging for help.  Help he is  loath to give, but when offered a tantalizing clue that could finally  unravel the case that plagues his every waking thought, he accepts,  having no idea that the truth he will find is infinitely more terrible  than what already haunts him.

Changelog 1.02

-Added about 8k words of content to the game bringing the game's total size up to about 348k words of content.

New build is up.  Quite a bit of new content has been added since the last version I uploaded over here.

You can keep up with all of the latest progress on my Patreon page.  New related posts are always free.

The "Demo" version for free is actually the complete game.  The only difference between it and the pay version is the Cheat build of the game offers an in-game cheat menu which allows you to adjust stats at will, which in turn can make some content within the game easier to find.

Very happy to hear you're enjoying the game!  If you know of any specific places where misspellings are, let me know and I'll make a point of running them down when I get the chance.

As for labeling the game as "twine" that actually appears in the tag cloud.  ;)

New build is up for anyone who is interested!

This game has been in production for about a year now.  Much of that time has been spent putting together the framework that makes everything work.  The game has only recently started to see regular updates as it has reached a point where we can add content to the game.

At the time of this post the game includes the following:

Full interactive intro.

Navigation of the mansion itself.

Roughly 150 minor scenes, many of which are affected by time of day, job assignments, and relationship values.

As of A4 there are 8 interactive scenes that can trigger that depend on relationship, time of day, job assignments, etc.

A meal system that will be expanded upon as the game grows.

A punishment system that will be expanded upon as the game grows.

A sleep mechanic which includes a host of scenes affected by time of day and sleeping arrangements.

An eavesdropping mechanic who's scenes are affected by relationship values and time of day.

An interactive sex mechanic with three positions currently available (Oral receive, Missionary, and Doggystyle) with plans to add several more and to expand on what is already there.

The ability to take a shower.

Most of the game's current content is focused on the older sister, Anna, but we're now shifting our attention towards adding content for Eve to hopefully catch her up to where her sister is as far as playable content.

Putting the final touches on the next test build of Wanton Cove right now.  I'll be sending it out to testers some time later today and we should see the new build come out late next week!

I have free versions of all my projects, I hope you enjoy them when you find the time to play.

I've been making NSFW text based games for a few years now.  I currently have two projects.

The first I have been working on for about three years now.  Its name is The Allure of Wanton Cove.    Until about a year ago I worked on it casually, but then I started working on it more professionally through Patreon.  The game is a bit more than 300k words of content now and includes art.  I've recently posted the game to this site as well.  I'm nearing completion of the main narrative of the game, but still have several side stories I hope to tell within the setting.   The game is a lovecraftian horror game told in the noir style.   Its effectively a detective tale that follows the protagonist as he tries to find his former partner's missing son, and following the clues of the case that ended his career.    I've been told that it can take +8 hours of active play reach the current end of content, and a minimum of five playthroughs to see everything the game has to offer.

The second game is much newer, named Inheritance.  Its been in production for about a year now and has only recently started seeing releases.   (Not yet released on this site)  It follows a young man who inherits a mansion, along with two slave girls.  Its up to the player to decide how they want to treat the girls.  So far the game has received an incredibly positive response.  I plan to share this one here on this site once the next build comes out.

I make The Allure of Wanton Cove in a program named Twine.  Inheritance is being made in Twee.   Wanton Cove is a solo project that I've been working on alone (I use a cut of the profits to commission art for the game. ).  Inheritance on the other hand is a group project.  I have done most of the writing for the game, but am trying to set the game up so others can contribute as well.  I've also got a couple of people who help with the code as well as a couple of artists who are creating art for the game.

Both of the projects are being actively developed with releases for one of the other coming out a couple of times a month.

With the latest version of my other game, Inheritance, now in testing for its next release (Late this week.  Will likely be adding the game to this site at that time), my focus this week is returning to Wanton Cove!

At present, there are only two major scenes to be written for the main narrative of the story.  I hope to write one of those this week, along with a couple of smaller bits of content to go with it for the next release.

You can follow progress for all of my projects through my Patreon page:

(1 edit)

I've been creating games for a few years now and decided I should take the time to share some of my work here.

The Allure of Wanton Cove has been in development for about three years now, includes more than 300,000 words of written content. The game is primarily text based, however it does include art as well.  It is a horror game taking place within the Cthulhu mythos.  There are some very graphic NSFW moments and the game is not suitable for minors. Hope that everyone gives it a try, its been amazingly well received, being the third highest rated game on TFGameSite out of close to 1200 games on their database.

"You play the part of a washed up ex-detective, living your life one bottle at a time until your old partner and estranged friend comes knocking.  His son has gone missing, the police wont pursue the case, and he's run out of leads, so he comes looking to call in an old favor.

You hear him out, even if you have no intention of helping him out.  But then he offers you the only clue he has to the whereabouts of his son.  A hand written letter with a return address of Wanton Cove, the very name of which dregs up memories of the last horrible case you worked, a case that was never solved."

The game is at version .98 at the time of this post.  1.0 will complete the main narrative of the game, however there are several side stories I hope to explore if there's enough interest to continue from people.

The only difference between the Free and the Pay versions is that the Pay version includes a Cheat menu that makes it easier to explore some of the content within the game.   Give the free version of the game a try, and if you feel like giving a little something, it would be greatly appreciated.

You can find the project here:
