This game has a very clear amount of depth on their mechanics involved that feel very special from a jam game! I do think the thing that could be polished more for this game has to be the tutorial, i think in this game that obv has a lot of mechanics and complexity, being able to explain little by little the core loop on a low-stake tutorial level would give the players a easier time to adapt to the gameplay!

we had to adjust the times a lot for that minigame!! We obv wanted to show the work of our sound designer but at the same time we didnt want to make the afterchoice feel tooo long, it was a tricky part to make!

thanks for the input!

Yours it's also incredible too, it really has that fantasy book feel idk how to define it :)

Love the aesthetic and there has been some obvious care and detail on the narrative which is very interesting for a game of a jam, specially those where the main mechanic isnt mystery or visual novels, I think this is intended after what mantis says when you beat them but the upgrades are REALLY strong, for the mantis fight i just had to punch on the center with a build of health and damage not worrying about the hits, again, i feel that its partially intended but i find it a lil strange that the beetle felt more of a challenge than the last boss, still obv an incredible pitch!!

Very cool game, the only thing i found a little weird is that, at least on browser, the default key inputs are not wasd, other than that is beautifully made, good job!

Very interesting interpretation on the theme and execution!! The only thing is that i expected to be a lot of action happening around "outside the box" or boxing ring but either way really cool!

Interesting idea for sure! Although you could specify that the parry is somewhat like the cuphead parry instead of like blocking at the exact timing, i was a lil confused on the first minute!

I cried.

Then the game ended, I kept reading your article about the abuse, my tears were still.

To be able to express with the videogame media the struggles, the pain, the symbolism, the hope... I will not hide, I am ENVIOUS of your work (I hope it doesnt show as too aggressive :c).

I am very recent and still studying on the field of game development (specifically on the design facet), and I always and will always believe that the videogame genre is as valid as an art branch as can be theater, cinema, sculpting... To see examples of people who already reached and created pieces like this, its as inspiring as it is overwhelming. Part of that fear is what it drives me to improve myself and to, someday, make someone also cry with my game as you did with me.

I've been searching and navigating around your sites for like 2-3 hours, mainly your portfolio, your archive of photos of your ideas in your notebooks, your blogs about obscure tools to use in experimental game design (which will come handy c:<)... You really know how to make interactive experiences feel unique even out of the executables!

I dont want to make this comment longer than it needs cause i tend to yap too much but, just know that you are an inspiration and a true artist that i aim to be myself. So keep your head high and believe that, no matter what leeches try to diminish your person or try to dehumanize you, you are an icon that shines brighter than they'll ever be able to opaque (at least for me).

I hope i dont sound too corny or weird, but you genuinely moved me, stay strong Nathalie.

Sincerely, Joel.

La verdad es que no tuvimos mucho tiempo para balancear la dificultad 😅 de igual manera creo que el hecho de que el juego te abrume tan rápido tiene un poco de sentido para el protagonista almenos, muchas gracias por jugar Gonzalo!
