Thanks for playing and leaving your thoughts!

I’m not sure if you’re talking about the illusion of choice on most dialog lines, but I took a note anyway. I think I overdid it and at least you should get some dialog for your wasted stats :)

Note also taken about the collecting aspect, and the uniqueness of each house. I think it should feel like you’re accumulating something as you complete quests, and accomplishing new things to do once you find new places.

After finishing this, I decided to do a challenge run: beat all trials in 1 attempt each.

And I just made it, using the first deck and an afterglow strategy :)

Though I didn’t reset the game, of course I just used Prestige :)

I really liked the message in this game. Self acceptance really becomes easier or harder based on your past choices.

I think it’s important to remember this!

I’m interpreting acceptance as going down (S or down arrow) and denial as going right (D or right arrow)

This is incredible! Such a great idea :)

They sound pretty good! I’ve bookmarked

I didn’t play too far. Even though I love horror games I’m not very good with jump scares.

I felt like I died in an unfair way. Maybe if I got a bit better at the game I could know why I died, or could have avoided it.

But I liked your sound effects/ambience a lot, and I liked the idea of there being a tradeoff between hiding and sanity.

This demo was really cute! I was invested in feeding the little hungy catterpillar :)

(1 edit)

Very nice and relaxing game. I like how it slowly twists my brain and I like its calm background music.

The incremental format is a plus. I don’t feel like I’m losing everything (which is an issue I have with roguelikes) even though this is mostly an issue of how the game frames the meta progression.

I like how you can plan your whole turn and click several cards in a row without waiting for the previous animation to end, though it would be nice to click the “end turn” button as part of this chain too.

The game plays reasonably well with touch controls on Firefox for Android (I ignored the warning) but I mostly played on Firefox for desktop.

EDIT: I finished the game and I think afterglow is a bit overpowered, in how much it can grow.

You will get an upgrade to remove cards after a few unlocks.

I think the game is forcing you to try and have a go with all the cards to figure out synergies, before letting you decide how to trim your deck.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one and can confirm that it’s relaxing :)

I played the first island. Had a problem finding the one last bit of plastic, but then I looked at the minimap.

Adding plants at the end was really satisfying!

Thank you for playing!

You got the only ending, really :) there’s some variation but it doesn’t change where you end up. In the real ending I’m planning for at least one real choice!

made us want to balance our points to sway them towards beneficial change.

That’s something I was really going for! It’s important to be confrontational and advocate for your cause, but also to conserve your mental health and general willingness to act.

I found it interesting how you interpreted confidence, it’s not what I had in mind but I welcome it :)

I agree with your thoughts about the bonfire. There should be ways to gain confidence. Or the bonfire should do so.

As for the pings, I agree! This game is a bit lacking in SFX and music alike, I will spend some afternoons on it.

I played the first mission and I think it was rather interesting. I am a linux afficionado and appreciated the simplified terminal interface, which made the command usage more focused on the fun bits and less on the manpage reading.

Some notes:

  • The SFX volume is really loud by default! I adjusted my volume until the music sounded right, but some sounds were way too loud. I found that in the settings the SFX was 4X louder than music.
  • Because I don’t have great eyesight, an option to change UI zoom in the settings would have really appreciated
  • I liked that the RAM upgrade costs $1000, very topical :D

This is a Pathologic-like game about a community’s shared dreams and who gets to dictate them.

I started this project semi-recently, with graphics inspired partially by another indie game, Eclipsium, and genre&ideas from Pathologic.

I’ve decided to make it an open alpha with only the few first days of content as well as not all mechanics, in order to get feedback and feel out whether other people are interested in this kind of game.

I welcome and appreciate feedback both from game developers and non-game developers.

Ice pick lodge should work on this as a prequel to Pathologic 3 and make all of it canon.

The toxic yaoi ending is perfect btw, I didn’t even want to see the others and risk devaluing that one.

I bought this over on Humble but decided to add to this interesting comment section.

Perhaps the scariest thing about this game is that when you take away the grotesque metaphors and individual story, turn off the game and go outside, there are many people who dehumanise others. People who look at the horrors of dehumanisation and find it acceptable or even desirable.

This game was amazing. When me and my fren learned that our boi Shadow is insecure about the Shadow The Hedgehog game, we thought it was cute.

Would let him marry Shrek again. 10/10

Aha! I got to level 8 :)

It’s so hard! I hope the demo is the last level :D

I tried many times, but I don’t make it past the third round. It feels like I should have more money at the start, because getting a maze started requires to survive at least 2 rounds on 1-2 towers.

But I really liked it and will try it out when it comes out. Perhaps I’ll be more skilled the second time around!
