Hey everyone! 馃憢
I hope this is the right place to share this — I run by my own an academic journal focused on games, and I'd love to invite developers from this wonderful community to collaborate with it and write a small paper about your games for the first issue (release in 30.04.2026) for free.
Here's the deal:
We publish research and articles about games — whether it's game design theory, narrative techniques, technical deep-dives, post-mortems, studies on player behavior, or anything in between. If you've ever thought, "I learned something cool while making my game and I wish I could share it properly" — this might be for you.
What we offer:
- Publication is completely free. No hidden fees, no paywalls, nothing. We believe knowledge should be accessible. But we are on official journal with ISSN and DOI.
- Every article gets a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), which means your work becomes a citable academic source — great for your portfolio, CV, or just for the satisfaction of contributing to game studies.
- Promotion across Russia — we actively promote published articles within the Russian academic and game dev community, giving your work additional visibility and reach. Yes, I know about politics and all of this mess but we are about games and science and people, so think more about new market opportunity and networking.
Who is this for?
Honestly, anyone! You don't need to be an academic or have a PhD. If you're a developer who has interesting insights about your creative process, your design decisions, your technical solutions, or your experience with the indie scene — we'd love to hear from you. We're happy to help first-time authors shape their ideas into a publishable format.
What kind of topics are we looking for?
Pretty much anything game-related: game design methodology, procedural generation, accessibility in games, storytelling approaches, community building, the economics of indie development, educational games, game jams as a creative practice… the list goes on. If it's about games and you find it fascinating, chances are we do too.

Thanks for reading, and keep making amazing games! 馃幃
