Thank you for your likes!<3

The story takes place in the second year of high school. Higan has already had his birthday this year, so he is 17 years old. Aoisaki, for certain reasons, started school a year later, making him one year older than his classmates—he is 18 years old. The age of MC is determined by the player.

This setting was mentioned in the response to the first round of questions .You can take a look if you're interested.Hope this helps.

哈哈,谢谢你的喜欢。( ^^) _旦~~

Congratulations on noticing that, buddy.

Thank you for helping with the answer. 😊🌹

Thank you for your appreciation and kind words! I also noticed the comment you wrote in the ratings – it was deeply moving.

Your phrasing is as lovely as a soft breeze, soothing and refreshing.

After a long absence, logging in to find this comment lifted my spirits completely. ( ^∀^)/

Thank you for liking him. (^^ゞ)

Oh! Don't worry, I can read it perfectly fine. In fact, I'm truly grateful that you took the trouble to comment and praise me in Chinese—it really makes me happy.

( ^^) _旦~~

The word you used—"珍惜" (cherish/treasure)—is wonderful. Even though his methods are extreme, for an arrogant, desire-driven villain to choose to restrain his own desires is indeed a kind of cherishing mixed with control and possessiveness, isn't it?

Thank you for your comment and like!♪ (*/ω\*)

Wow! Thank you so much for going through the trouble of creating an account just to leave a comment. 😊

Haha, the writing style and art style of the two works are probably quite different—your surprise made me smile. I've actually received similar shocked reactions before.

Thank you for liking Aoisaki. His thoughts are really hard to read—even our artist struggled with "what is he even thinking?" while working on the demo. I felt like I needed to pry open a tiny crack into his mind.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this extra story.

The Mac version has been released! Hopefully it will run smoothly. (^^ゞ

Oh my—thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave such a long, thoughtful comment.

( ^^)

It’s such a lovely coincidence that you discovered this game through *Past Hope*. The two stories do share a certain symmetry in structure.

I’m truly honoured that you appreciate the emotions woven into the story. If I may share a personal thought—jealousy is, to me, one of the most fascinating feelings of all. Whether it’s romantic jealousy or envy for what others have, it implies that deep down, we see ourselves as equals to the person we envy. We don’t envy the sun or the stars—we only envy those who stand on the same ground as us. Perhaps jealousy is a ‘no’ that secretly says ‘yes’—‘I envy you because I acknowledge that you have something I deeply desire.’ Even the most composed and mature people, once struck by jealousy, become insecure, say the opposite of what they mean, and do childish, foolish things. I’m so glad you find that endearing.

As for Higan… well, I've taken a peek at the extra chapter CGs our artist has prepared, and they might actually overturn the image he had in the main story, haha. He appears to be a straightforward, strong-willed tsundere—but as I mentioned in an earlier reply, characters aren't always telling the truth from the MC's perspective; and even from their own perspectives, they can be contradictory or self-deceiving. Still, how you interpret them is entirely up to you.

I haven't often seen a "fawning" type of MC in yandere games before, so I wanted to prove that even such a protagonist can be part of an interesting story (much like how I wrote a bullying MC in my previous work).

In my mind, the two routes have always run parallel to each other, reflecting and illuminating one another. You noticed that—and you understood it—which makes me feel that all those carefully placed parallels weren't wasted.

And you're welcome—as a creator, I'm also grateful to every player who takes the time to play. Receiving a long comment like this genuinely makes my day.

Thank you for the suggestion! If I find the time, I might compile and release the script text. <3

Thank you for your enquiry! I’ve been quite busy recently, but I’ve got some free time now, and the Mac version of the game has been released. ;3

Haha. That’s why this game is called *Lock*.

ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ✩

Players are free to come up with their own theories and ideas. After all, the truth has been locked away by someone.

Furthermore, due to the characters’ complex emotions, they will lie at times—and I’d be delighted if players were able to spot this.

Thank you for your comments and for waiting!

Hello! Right now, the iOS files are exported directly from TyranoBuilder and require some processing before they can run. I haven't fully figured that part out yet. <3

Oh! Thank you so much for your long comment. Knowing that you played through all of my games using a translator… that gesture means more to me than words can express. I created these stories purely out of my own passion, so learning that players from different linguistic backgrounds are willing to take the time to read them—that joy is truly something special.

I'm really glad that Aoisaki resonated with you on such a deep level. Since I often interact with people from all walks of life and all kinds of backgrounds, I've observed that many have gone through similar experiences—carrying unspoken frustrations that rarely get voiced. What a pleasant surprise. I'm truly happy that you brought this up.

In the two stories, I intentionally built a symmetrical structure. The biggest common trait between Hoshino and Aoisaki… well, they seem harmless on the surface, but they are incredibly ruthless toward the ones they love, and even more ruthless toward themselves. I find that quality of "ruthlessness" very interesting.

As for Higan's conviction, I can summarize it with an ancient Chinese saying: "明知不可为而为之" — he truly is a character who shines a light even in the darkest moments. You said you were running out of words? No, not at all. Your description of him was spot on. Thank you for seeing him that way.

With your encouragement, I will keep doing what I love, and keep writing the stories I want to tell. Honestly, this deeply moves me.

Wow! Thank you for liking it. But oh no… that’s an unknown error. I am very sorry...<3

Here is the file path for the English version of the game’s scenario text. If you really want to play and have the time, you could try opening the Chinese version and playing whilst referring to the files in the ‘scenario’ folder.

Wow, thank you for playing this game and enjoying it!

The ‘Question Mark’ ending is one of the branches in Aoi’s confrontation scene.

Any option → ‘Take on that delinquent!’ → Any option (no other branches apart from the happy ending)

Silence → Speak (Question Mark ending)

Oh! Thank you for completing the entire game, and also for your lengthy review. I can tell you were deeply invested in the story, which led to strong feelings of confusion and resistance. <3

From MC's perspective, it aligns with the player's impression—things happen without warning, extremely suddenly: the situation takes a sharp turn for the worse, why? Why did he do that?! After all that conversation between them, what was the point of everything they said? Is he insane? Why did the author write such a twist? Is the author insane?

I usually revise repeatedly before finalizing a draft, more times than anyone could imagine. I'm fully aware of the feelings players will have—some might understand the characters, others might feel frustrated.

But rather than stating everything explicitly, I prefer to leave things blank, to leave cracks, and enjoy the moments when players ponder, "Does something feel off here?" and a flash of insight strikes them. Like with mystery novels, I want to encourage players to piece together the clues, so that when they replay the game, they have an "Aha! I see now" moment. I find that very interesting.

MC is prevented from uncovering the truth—that's because Aoi simply doesn't want to reveal it. He chooses to stop himself from becoming an even more monstrous criminal, and still wishes to remain by MC's side as a "clean" person. He actively uses an extremely drastic method to "lock" their friendship and his own sins.

Aoi understands his own sociopathic nature. He doesn't dare take the gamble—he can't bet that his flaws will change just because he falls in love with MC.

What if he can't control his urges? What if he truly ends up inflicting physical or verbal violence on MC? Just like the line he says in the main story, "Are you willing to bet that he's a good person? Huh?" — isn't he also talking about himself?

He believes that, one day, he will inevitably commit some heinous atrocity. So before any of those problems arise, he forcibly cuts off the possibility.

For someone as arrogant, narcissistic, and paranoid as Aoi, accepting that he can't do anything, that he's become useless, accepting MC's and Higan's pity—and even having to swallow the jealousy and possessiveness that come with being a friend—is more infuriating than the pain of death. It's a long, drawn-out torture, a kind of cruel torture.

Aoi already foresaw this outcome, yet he still went through with it.

This is the third ending he chose for himself. Originally there were only two: one is death (the true ending, on the rooftop); the other is indulging his ever-expanding desires, committing increasingly severe misdeeds until death (the bad ending).

In the true ending, he does everything in his twisted, gentle way to protect MC. That's the "love" a bad person can give—even if this stubborn, hard-mouthed guy would never admit it.

He will quietly keep the secret, until he is burned to death by the flames of jealousy.

Higan's story is connected to my other games(his father was RO in that game), and I don’t want to reveal everything too early, haha. Extra Chapter 1 is a supplementary part from Aoi’s perspective in the true ending, which may answer some of the questions on your mind. Extra Chapter 2 is currently in production and will delve deeper into Higan’s character—stay tuned.

That's so wonderful to hear! Thank you so much for your kind words.(つ´ω`)つ

Que bom que você gostou! Fico feliz.<3

Oh, thank you… what a lovely comment!

No problem, you’re welcome to keep following this account—I’ll keep creating and updating!

(I do have creator accounts on Twitter and Tumblr, but I prefer to make my games in secret, without my followers on those platforms knowing, haha.

It’s quite fun, especially when I bump into people I know on the itch.io community, but they don’t realise it’s me.)
