Thank you so much! Quality of life and making it easy to edit your machines is definitely something we'll improve on moving forward :) Happy to tell you that scroll to rotate is also on the table as well.

The chained splitters is a fan favorite from what I've seen this past week! I love how there's no end to the creativity of our players!

Wow, this game is awesome! I loved playing Carcassonne and this really brought me back. The pixel art looks amazing and the music is on-point as well. I wish that I could restart from my current stage so I didn't lose all my progress since sometimes I would forget to disable the speed up mode. Great entry!

Really awesome game :) Got my arrow damage up to 2.5 to two-shot the ground enemies then exploding brought it to a one-shot! Loved the pixel art -- hoping you can expand on this with more enemies and abilities!

Really unique concept! I ended up playing it all the way through and reaching the ending without too many restarts -- I realized that if I stayed near the spikes the enemies would hurt themselves by walking into them. The restart mechanic really reminds me of the chilling moment in Undertale after I tried to restart my save file after killing Toriel and feeling bad (search up Flowey on Saving Toriel on YT). I think this has a lot of potential!

I think the melee hitboxes could use some tweaking, sometimes it feels like my hits should have connected when they didn't. Also I saw you mentioned on discord that players weren't realizing that restarting was a core part of the game progression. I think one potential idea is to make it so that the restarting doesn't require a player clicking a "restart" button, and also mixing up the dialogue/animation even more drastically so it doesn't feel the same. You want it to feel like a restart, but you also want to convey to the player that big changes are happening, and they should continue playing to find out more. Making the player have to click a button before knowing this is likely causing a lot of drop-off.

Overall a great entry to the gamejam and I hope you continue working on it!

Hahaha that is true that it's easy to scale up your power. But nothing beats that feeling of seeing your machine grow into something insanely strong. Glad to hear you liked the game. Thanks for yplaying!

Thank you! So happy to hear you say that :D

makes my day to hear that! I'm really happy you enjoyed playing -- we both want to continue pushing this idea farther as well and seeing what sort of awesome experiences we can enable. Thank you for showing me your build! It's interesting to see what kind of different blocks/strategies people went for in their machines :)

Really appreciate it! We worked hard on making sure everything aligned into one game feel. We love to hear the vote of confidence, expanding and tightening this game up is our number one priority :)

Re: the difficulty, yeah unfortunately balancing is not something we had time for by the end of the jam, but we prioritized endless mode instead as a solution for those REALLY wanting to push the limits of their machines. I'm grateful you took the time to play our game and a big thank you for letting us see what kind of cool machine you've built!

Thank you so much for the kind words, c0mputerbug! I knew endless mode would be a big hit considering the open-endedness of the game :) I'm very happy you enjoyed it!

Hahaha Peglin was definitely an inspiration for us when making the game. We will definitely continue working on it, especially after seeing how everyone enjoyed it so much!!

Thank you so much for the high praise! Really happy to hear you enjoyed yourself :)

I laughed. I cried. I sent emails.

Cheese is good, cheese is fun, we embrace the cheese!

You don’t know how happy it makes me to see a person take the time to play our infinite mode up to 256k hp enemies. Thank you for pushing our game to the limits and big shout out for posting your machine! I love seeing what people come up with :)

Thank you so much! We both absolutely love roguelikes and play a ton of them so it’s no wonder you feel a lot of that inspiration in our game. Cheers!

Hahahaha the feeling of seeing your marbles progressively doing more and more is unmatched. Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed our game :)

Appreciate the kind words, thank you!!

Originally my plan was for the splitter to function more like a logic block, a ball would go out the left side, then one out the right side. I'm soooo glad lnterest took it the other way because it's one of the most exciting blocks to play around with lol.

We will continue working on it for sure. Thank you so much for the support!

That's our plan! We love seeing how receptive the community is. Thank you for taking the time to comment!

Thank you so much! \We spent a lot of time refining the feel of the machine and I'm overjoyed to hear about your experience.

Peglin was an inspiration for us while exploring the game mechanics, so that's what we were going for! Thank you!

I approached this game with the main ethos: breaking the engine is fun! That feeling where something you built is progressively becoming super powerful over time is an awesome rush, so I'm ecstatic you felt this way!

Re: the menu: THANK YOU! I was so happy with how it turned out, and I'm glad it's resonating with others.

On the audio: Yeah, this was something we really wanted to do but we just ran out of time. We will definitely add this feature though.

I really loved the feel of the narration. The art reminds me of those Chernobyl accident simulation videos on youtube.

Wow! I'm impressed with how much content there is in this game! The idle clicking + golf simulator combined are a really unique concept. And the art is absolutely gorgeous to top it off. Great job!

Wow - the thematic and art of this game is stunning. Fantastic work. Loved seeing the different enemies.

Really fun game! The carrots made me feel like a freaking super sprout hahaha. Super satisfying to watch my greenery grow.

The art is amaaaaaaazing wow I wouldn't expect this level of quality in a gamejam. Great job!

Also, the cat man saying "I don't fish like I used to..." and then single handedly FLINGING dozens of fish out of the lake like it was nothing sent me. LOL

Wow, the pixel art is very compelling! Really loved how you did the main menu screen as well. You should definitely try to take this further!

I think changing up the color of the goo or allowing full screen could really help since I started to get a bit of a headache from trying to look at the green goo on green leaves! Cute game :)

The pixel animations are the highlight for me. Loved the white kaiju's animation specifically. I kept losing on the yellow/red one until I managed to try eating the white bugs like the others suggested hahaha. Thank you for the fun quick game!

This is such a cute game! I loved the pixel art and animations, especially the small guy falling from the branch in the beginning :')

One critique I have is that the falling leaf uses the same warning icon as the apples, so when I was in my first playthrough I thought I was supposed to actually go for the apples. Other than that congrats on such a lovely entry!

The art is really beautiful and unique, love the hand-drawn feel. I think a tutorial could go a long way so the player can understand the game over conditions; took me 2 playthroughs before it clicked.

I think a simple graphic for the ground could go a long way, and also maybe an indicator of where the nearest food is. It's an interesting tradeoff as you get bigger + not being able to see as much on the screen. Good job!

Wow! This is an awesome take on a farming sim + card game! I had a blast trying to optimize the layout. I think you should definitely keep working on this to polish it up! Some polish on the graphics and maybe some keybindings to reduce the repetitive nature of some of the tasks could go a long way. Great job!

beat the game in 3:07! This has a lot of potential! I love these kind of store simulation games, I'm hoping that you continue to flesh this idea out!

This is a cool movement mechanic! And for your first game I think being able to understand/implement a shader is very impressive, so great job!

Neat arcade game! I think a tutorial or some explanation of the game mechanics is needed here, sometimes the enemies wouldn't die when I thought they would and the inconsistency was a little confusing. Congrats on the game!

Really polished game. Excited to join the trophy club :)

Thank you for the lovely feedback! And I love seeing other peoples cool machines -- great design! Re: the difficulty our last gamejam entry the feedback was overwhelming that we made too hard of a game so this one I decided to err on the side of caution WAYYY in the other direction. We were totally okay and actually encouraged players to try and break the machine as much as they wanted! Thanks for sharing yours :)

P.S. we don't have a tutorial for it but you can also click on the blocks to rotate them -- we just didn't have time to build the tutorial. I'll add it to the game page now :P

ohhhh I didn't even realize that xD makes sense

Now this is a good game! As someone who knows the struggle of building a rhythm game (I submitted Bug Beat in the last GWJ) this is super impressive to me. The small details like the screen shakes, the countdown circles on the kernels, and the sound cues on combos show the careful thought you guys put into this. It makes the perfect hits very satisfying! I love the leaderboard to tie it all together, it's a complete game.

Random note but I started seeing the kernels as avocados cut in half and I couldn't un-see them lol
