Really adictive and challenging. I can safely assume most playthroughs will be a lot longer than 20 seconds because you get that urge to really beat your score and to keep on playing, which is something I associate with good arcades :) . Had a lot of fun, nice job.
Did you consider making the colliders slightly smaller? Usually, shmups with a lot of things going on at the same time make them smaller than the ship to trick the players into believing they're secret aces hahaha. But I can see how keeping them as they are now add to the whole "survive!" experience

Well like 80% of the dev time went into making movement feel good so I'm really glad it worked and you enjoyed it :) Didn't know if I succeded at that. I probably still need to tweak it a little bit but personally I'm happy with the result. I'll say that the game will get an even stronger identity as I implement some unique mechanics and gimmicks, but cloning Mario felt like a safe bet to get basics things like momentum right.
