To be fair I use 7zip and I've had some compressed files decompress without the folder structure, so all the files are in the top folder.

What fixed that for me was double-clicking the compressed file, which should show you the top folder, right click that and "Copy", then create a new folder somewhere in your Documents, go into it and right click "Paste". It should decompress and copy the contents of the compressed file over to the new folder with the correct file structure.

But to be clear, I have no idea if that'll work for you, or why you're having a problem.

Okay, I can be patient. Does the Subscribestar build come here eventually?

I wish I had something specific to give you but I haven't been able to get anywhere in the game. Initially I went through the New Game start up, did God Selection, started the Flowers in the Mist and after the preamble got a black screen. Closed the game, did a Quickstart, got to the map, moved to the graveyard but after the message nothing I click on the screen does anything. Closed, restarted, another quickstart. Return Home, got letter. +3 funds. It looks like "May as well make use of it" is something to click but neither it or journal, the only other thing that looks clickable, do anything except make a squelchy sound. I even plugged in another mouse, tried hitting enter (get the squelch sound) and space and pretty much every key on the keyboard. Nowt.

Is there some trick to screen navigation?

Oh, running it through the itch launcher if that makes a difference. Hmm. Might try a direct install.... and I did and a couple of extra clicks here and there and ran into the same problem.

You downloaded a zip file and extracted it. To uninstall just delete the extracted folder.

Typically you can go to the exe, which will be in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common" folder (no quotes), right click it and select copy. Go to you desktop and paste shortcut.

So does buying on here guarantee a Steam key?

Appreciate this is a problem on mobile but on PC you can scroll with the mousewhell to roll back and forward.

Played it on Steam back in September. Was on a bit of a 2D space game binge after playing Starcom Nexus. Bought UE on here 9 years ago, apparently. Can't say I haven't got my money's worth over the years, though my initial purchase was more of a thank you for the X mods he did.

This is addictive! I get that RNG plays a big part but the concept is pure.

"For those who'd rather have their right hand free"

Lol. Pretty sure I've been wanking left-handed since I got a mouse and that was back when porn was ASCII or you were prepared to wait 20 minutes for a grainy "Page 3" photo to download. Good times!

Congrats on the Steam release! Kinda wishing I'd bought it here with the patch faff but no biggy.

Pour one out for McGonagall.

Microsoft never got the message:

On PC the default textbox is REALLY dark, hiding a lot of the "action". If you're feeling brave look for the textbox.png file in the GUI folder, copy it for safety then open with GIMP or your editor of choice and change the opacity. In GIMP this is in the layer menu - wind it down to about 20% or so then export the file as textbox.png again. If you export to a different folder, copy it back to where the original was installed, overwriting it (remember to make that backup just in case!)

I'm not one to comment on abandoned games, but it was kinda annoying me so I did a Google. Hopefully it helps anyone else who finds this game.

Played through the demo of the remake, and like you I wasn't a big fan. Obviously the original Gothic developers, Piranha Bytes, aren't involved (they're making Elex and others) so it'll probably be about as good as Gothic 3.

Plenty of other puppies in the game, amirite? Sweater puppies.

A lot of the old school Japanese Visual Novels had censored releases on Steam, with wide availability of uncensored patches, released with a wink and a nod. It let them release on Steam (and elsewhere) but people buying the game knew they could have it uncensored if they wanted.

So just turn Alice into a Golden Retriever on Steam and have a patch. People like dogs, you might sell even more that way. Wait, make Alice, Chloe's bewildered granny. People like GILFs, you might sell even more that way.
