Hey there, thanks for playing!
Yeah, difficulty should definitely be tweaked in the future.
I played your game, and ratted also! :)

It was a nice experience! I liked how both characters had a different playstyle, and the enemies were varied enough to make interesting combat encounters!

You guys are the best! Everyone needs to check out Department of Death, it's a great submission!
Giving the recently deceased a cruise might be expensive, but you it's all worth it in the end!

Thank you so much for playing!

I do recommend that you don't complete the game in it's current form, as it's far too repetitive and unfinished at the moment.
(The curse of making it for a game-jam)
If you  enjoyed it enough however, consider following my profile here on itch.io, since I do plan on adding new features and QOL updates (such as saving your game, more varied platforming, etc...) in the near future!

Thanks again for playing, and have an amazing rest of your day! :D

Thank you for playing, and finishing my game!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I just finished playing and rating your game, it was really fun!
I left a comment on your page!

The game was really fun!
Figuring out the upgrade system was really enjoyable, especially when I tried pushing it to it's limits!
When I started, I played cautiously, using a doorway as a chokepoint to funnel the enemies into. Then, I tried to get as many upgrades as possible, and the results were hilarious! I was able to get over 100 ammunition, 600 hp, and I was able to get my fire-rate and reload speed up high enough, that I basically now have a minigun. lol
Best wave based shooter since Cod WaW:zombies!

10/10  I'd love to see an update for this!

Really well made game! Reminded me of 'Death and Taxes', and was a positive experience! The visual style was great, especially with how the page was set up!
I don't know if it was my luck or what, but I've met the same person twice in a row, so maybe that's one small thing I could call an "issue", but not really since a game-jam game shouldn't be expected to have 100's of varied names and character profiles.
Overall great experience, thanks for making it! :)

Hey there! I'll be playing and rating your game in 30mins or so, I'm excited! :)
I'd be glad if you could check out and rate my game:  Life Cycle

Any rating and criticism is welcome, as I want to update and improve this game in the future!

Thank you for playing!
I'm glad you enjoyed my random rambling! :)

Hey there!

It would be really cool if you could play the game I've made, and sent some critique my way! It's a good game to stream IMO, since it's engaging enough to stream, but it doesn't require too much thought, which makes it easier to talk with Twich chat all the while! You don't need to finish it, but trying it might be fun! https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3937928

Have a nice day!

It was a fun little game, the tree running onto the road sent me! lol

Thanks for commenting!
Was there a technical issue, or do you simply not have time to play?
Just asking so I can fix the technical issue in the future, if it's that.

Thanks for playing! :)
I'm glad you found the messages to be enjoyable!

Thanks for playing! :)
What do you mean exactly by mouse control? like to move the camera, the character, or for what purpose exactly?
I'd just like to know how I can improve it in the future! :)

Your game was really nice, I rated it and commented below it.

If it's not too much trouble, then I'd like you to try my game as well!

Really well done, it's a game that achieves what it was set out to do, with great success!
Thanks for making this!

A really beautiful game you guys made here! Really pretty visuals, good music, and a nice bittersweet story to top it all off.
I'm glad this was made and published!

Ooooh, that makes sense. I never realised Iyou could crouch. Sorry for that then.

Absolutely AMAZING game! I've been really enjoying my time with it, and actively want to go back and play!

Really nice, stylized visuals, that give the game a really nice atmosphere! T
he gameplay was perhaps the best part of the game! The movement feels just right, the dash is especially nice, since it's fast and versatile, without it feeling disorientating to use. The game has a strong Devil Daggers feeling to it, which should tell you just how good the game is!

I can whole heartedly say that this game can stand side by side with some of the Boomer-Shooter greats out there!
Playing this has been the high-point of my day!

I'm glad you found the game to be  worth your time! I feel honored, to be put in the same sentence as The Stanley Parable! xd

Yes, games like 'The Stanley Parable' and 'The beginner's guide' were a huge inspiration for the project, along with the works of Edmund McMillen, though that's far less visible, if at all. It is planned to update the game in a couple of weeks(adding new content and making the game more engaging to play).

Thank you once again for playing, and have a nice day! :D

Nice game, especially the visuals! The camera following the character made it really nice and cinematic!

Thank you for creating such a post! With so many submissions it really is hard to get some eyes on our own stuff specifically!
I'd be really happy if some of you guys could check my game out:
https://itch.io/jam/jamsepticeye/rate/3937928
It's a little platformer type game about dying and unlocking new outfits

I also found a cool horror game named Whisperwood, which really creeped me out, and I wouldn't haver found it if it wasn't for posts like these!

Really fun little game, the art style was good and the gameplay was satisfying! My favorite thing was collecting 100 guys in a single spot, and crushing them in 1 go!

I'd be glad if you rated my game as well!

Really well done! It's been a while since I've seen such an atmospheric game. Sound design was splendid as well, and I found myself really creeped out! Sometimes the vagueness of certain audio signals gave me some issues, but it definitely helped with the scare-factor.
Good job!

Amazing atmospheric horror!
Some stuff can be a bit vague, but that's good for creating such an atmosphere.
You guys did a really great job on this!

Really really nice game! The visuals are stunning and the main gameplay loop is enjoyable!

Nice little game, simple but enjoyable! I like the graphics, they remind me of old Flash games, which is definietly a positive!

I really enjoyed the game, it was a nice play! I do think Level 6 needed another spike tbh, it was a bit too easy for my taste ;)

I'd be thankful if you could check out and rate my game as well, if you have the time!

A really creative take on the theme! Nice and responsive, with cute art.  Level 5 made me sweat xd

Really nice concept! The large room where you have to climb up was a bit janky, and I'm not sure what the orange bubbles do, but still pretty good!

Thank you for playing and reviewing, that's really kind of you!

It was originally planned to have different platforming sections, but thanks to time constraint I had to leave it out.
It was originally supposed to have 9 different ribbons, and at least 9 outfits as well,  but I had to cut it down to 4 ribbons and 6 outfits.
I do want to update the game however, and upload it separately with more content and with more engaging gameplay!
Hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be able to do so!

Thank you again for playing, and have a nice day!  :D

The game was really enjoyable,  and you tackled the theme in a creative way! The possession mechanic was interesting, and blended really well with the level design! My only issue is that the possessing was sometimes a bit janky,  mainly with the bone. Giving the items different properties such as jump height and such was a really nice choice as well.
Overall: a really nice game, that looked and played well!

This game was a great little suprise!

May I ask what engine/framework you used for the project?
