Hi all,

I've just released Modeler Forge, a small desktop tool for making low-poly props out of orthographic reference images. the way props were made for Half-Life 2 and the engines of that era.

You drop your reference sheet in, outline up to six views over it (by hand node by node, with a rectangle or a circle, or with the automatic silhouette tracer), and it builds a closed, textured mesh. The texture comes from your own photos: one atlas, one cell per view, and each face takes its colour from the view it actually faces. There's a UV tab for fixing whatever the automatic mapping gets wrong.

It exports OBJ + MTL, MD2, MD3, MDL (Quake 1) and SMD + QC for GoldSrc/Source, each with its texture in the format that engine expects. The dumpster in the screenshots is 150 triangles across five parts, built from a single reference sheet.

Windows installer and portable build, Linux AppImage and .deb. It runs entirely offline

It's my first release. If you make props for these engines, I'd really like to hear what breaks.
