Hey, thanks for the feedback! I tested it out with Z and X and it actually felt really good! Should've definitely added that as an alternate control scheme. And sorry about the aggressive shaking, I wanted to make sure there was a lot of feedback for hitting the musicians, but I see now this wasn't the right way to go about it. Really happy you enjoyed though!

I like your idea about the crowd reacting, though the reason I didn't include anything like that is because I wanted the game to be super casual and didn't really want to punish players for failing, but maybe I could've made the crowd cheer if you do something good to reward players for doing well, without punishing them for doing poorly
And the hiring system was initially supposed to be a lot more in depth. The musicians were gonna have different skill levels and cost more or less depending on that, but that was too complicated for what I had time for
Really helpful feedback though, thanks!
Very cute game! I liked it a lot.
My one point of feedback would be to add a little something to keep the gameplay fresh, since it doesn't change at all as you play and as your cat grows. This could've even been done by gradually unlocking the different minigames one by one over time, just to add some kind of progression.
Just my opinion though, the game is already really good! Love the art too
Decent game, though I think it would have benefited a lot from a bit of juice (screen shake, squash and stretch, sound effects, that kind of thing) to make it feel better to attack and kill enemies. Also would have liked some more frequent upgrades for the player, since the horde grows really quickly and the player can't really match it
Hey, the second map should unlock once you finish one of the levels from the first map. Just click on it on the map screen.
And flutes should become available once you unlock levels that actually use flutes in them (the third map)
But thanks for the feedback about the squash effects, I wanted to exaggerate them to kinda hide the fact that I didn't actually have time to animate the musicians (lol), but I get how it could be distracting and i should've probably add an option to turn them down.

Hey thanks for your comment! If the notes felt out of time or were triggering at seemingly random times, then try restarting your browser or playing the game in a different browser. I got the issue once as well, but I don't think there's anything I can do about it. It's just the way browsers handle audio i guess
