ABYSS: The Last Night of the Titania

ABYSS is a free first-person horror game you play right in the browser, on a PC or a phone (there's a Windows build too): https://fliinch.itch.io/abyss

You wake in Cabin 47 of the Titania as she goes down in the worst water on earth. The boat deck is nine decks above you. Every deck floods on its own clock and has its own monster, and on the Grand Staircase the Captain hunts you, closer every time the lamps come back. You have three lives.

  • Nine decks, from third class and the orlop through Boiler Room 6, Scotland Road and the dining saloon to the promenade and the boat deck.
  • Nine monsters, each with one rule that keeps you alive: the Steward, the Crawler, the Stoker, the Runner, the Butcher, the Maître d', the Bride, the Thing on the Ceiling, and the Captain.
  • A flood clock on every deck: reach the stairs before it hits 00:00.
  • Twelve achievements, from getting out of the hold to climbing all nine decks without dying once.
  • Keyboard and mouse, touch, or a controller. Headphones recommended.

Version 2.1.1 just came out (the Bride learned to lunge, and the water is fair for you and the monsters alike). Notes are in the devlog on the page.

I'm Ali, a one-person studio in Toronto (Fliinch). I design and direct the game and build it with AI coding assistants; the storm, crowd voices and music were generated with ElevenLabs, and the short opening film with Veo. It's all disclosed on the page.

I'd love to hear which deck got you, and which monster.
