After thinking a bit I actually think the scene is loaded properly, but objects are drawing in the wrong order. The beeping you hear is the text sound which would imply the text is working, but I think it's appearing behind the rest of the scene. No idea what would cause that. If you keep pressing Z I think it should progress through all of the dialogue and let you play, but you'll miss a lot of important information..

You might be the first person I've seen who likes the aimlock mechanic!  A lot of people struggled to use it. Thank you so much for playing!

this is very strange. It seems to not be loading properly, the text immediately starts when the scene finishes loading. What browser do you use? I've yet to see this error. The downloaded version will likely work if you want to try that, web builds can be unstable.

this is really cool! it's interesting to think about how to properly connect stuff, esp when you can't change it after connecting it, so you really have to think ahead. i like how if you mess up and accidentally swap something it doesn't immediately fill in the new space. i didn't really understand those circular empty space spots tho. very nice simple little puzzle game!

Yeah, I agree and think the start of the game should be easier, it's quite hard before you stumble upon your first few scrap. Thank you for playing!

I think it depends on how much you want to scale it up. A lot of jam projects end up having super messy code that works fine to get stuff done, but is very hard to work with for new features. I think making a new project is generally better but it depends on your project

I really liked the aesthetics of this one, very dreamlike, and the music was quite nice too. I struggled a bit with the platforming, however. I could not figure out how to use the walljump, I could never do it consistently. The movement was a bit slow too, though maybe that is the web build's fault?

simple little sokoban game.  I think this could be interesting if expanded, though the movement feels real slow in this. I didn't really have any other problems though. neat game!

simple little game! I actually didn't realize you could freely move stuff at first and was struggling lol. I think a sound or other visual indicator when you take damage would help a lot, I often got surprised when I glanced over and saw how low health I was. Very solid little game though!

this was cool! Very simple, and very unique interpretation of the theme.

Nice simple little game, it looks nice and feels nice. Very simple but that's not a bad thing, especially for the gameboy theme. I thought the gameplay loop of optimizing your energy usage so you don't get too much debt while still maximizing your gold was rather interesting, even though the debt didn't really seem to matter. I also found out near the end, that you can dig diagonally! Not sure if that was intentional but it was really cool to discover

Cool little game, it is pretty nice feeling jumping around and dashing! I did run into a few minor bugs but nothing major. Sometimes the animation is a little buggy (I think for the death animations) and it seemed to lock me in crouching sometimes on a moving platform which didn't actually cause any problems but was a little confusing. I like the smooth screen based camera. Some of the sounds, mainly the wizard enemy shooting were a little messed up. Overall a nice game, simple but solid!

I wasn't sure what to expect with the title and cover image but I really enjoyed this! i love simple little incremental/idle games like this. the simple little graphics of the goblins moving around looks really nice. very simple but that's not a bad thing

I found this one very frustrating :( The menu art is really cool and moving fast is fun, but it's so hard to react in time to grab gold and avoid the enormous dark rooms that lock your controls. For me it kept snowballing and snowballing, I get hit by one hazard and then i can't dodge all the others and I go multiple seconds missing all the gold. I like the general retro vibes, it fits the theme well, and I think the concept is solid, it just needs better visibility so you can see what's coming and more player agency so you can respond to the hazards.

The game looks and sounds really good, perfectly fits the game boy theme and I really like the intro! The monster building mechanic is interesting and I think it has a lot of potential, but it's very unintuitive and unclear in its current state. I can't really see or tell what the parts are with the text being so big. The excavating is fun but it's a little slow. I think just removing the wait time before you can do your next action will make it feel much better.

I like the ambience and the art, the color palette is very gameboy and looks nice. It was fun collecting gold. It was so easy last time, I'm sure I can take another piece... And why not one more? And this gold piece too? It'll be fine....

Its all downhill from here

I like the base movement, the dashing and jumping feels very solid, but I'm really struggling with these levels. The difficulty spike in level 1 -> 2 is jarring. The time limit after getting the gold is really punishing too. It doesn't feel good to mess up once when you're almost back at the door and lose the gold, while you respawn right at the checkpoint you just hit at the start. I also kept having issues with the game just freezing trying to load new levels, even after several minutes (might just be an issue with my browser?).

As I'm typing this I only just figured out you can dash in any direction?? I thought it was horizontal only until my friend tried the game. So maybe the levels aren't nearly so hard as I thought? Really solid base movement despite my issues with the level design though.

I really struggled to find enough gems to unlock the next tool. Im not sure if im stupid or missing something? The tile based targetting/movement system is neat, however I managed to clip through walls a few times. I like the visuals and chill gameplay  and music. I think maybe there should be extra gems so you can miss a few and still be fine.

simple chill little game. Quite enjoyed it. big fan of spamming space bar and blowing myself up

I really like the enemy variety and the attack telegraphing. Sometimes the enemy melee attacks caught me off guard but everything else they did was very well communicated. I did sadly fail to find the secret though. The controls on the map section are weird and inconsistent, and also I managed to freeze the game there when moving to level 3 somehow? Didn't happen on a replay

Thank you so much for playing! It's unfortunate you couldn't find the buttons. There is one in each major area (green plant area, blue caves area, red lava area). There is dialogue telling you where they are but that only appears once, so it's very easy to miss. After the jam ends I plan to update the game with major features like a map!

this is cute! neat concept

I played a lot of Metroid as a kid

definitely the most unique take on the theme ive seen so far. simple incremental gameplay, maybe a little slow.

this is such a cute little game! very satisfying incremental game, i love all the little visual and audio touches like the bird and the border moving.

Thank you!

Nice and simple little game! I think the general movement and attacking could be a touch faster, overall I enjoyed though. Very gameboy-esque, and I really like the music!

tysm!

Really clever! This might be my favorite game I've played this jam. I'm very stumped but this is so cool. Also love the cute fox

Really chill little game! I loved this one. The art style is simple but perfect, and the same with the gameplay.

Very interesting little game. I like how the slowly growing plants adds a difficulty  curve to each run, while you still can cut some of them occasionally. I'm not sure if the web version was bugged, but the jump is a little weird. It seems to always jump if I'm holding it, not just if I pressed it, which led to some unintentional jumps, and I didn't really like having to hold the sprint button the whole time. I didn't see a reason to not hold it. I think I would've preferred if sprinting was on by default and shift was the dash. Overall very well made though!

Thank you so much!

Very neat and charming little game! Sometimes 3D objects got in the way and I couldn't see, but then I realized you could move the camera.

Clever little game! Very simple but it works perfectly. I like how you slowly introduce mechanics in simple environments so we can learn how they work without being underwhelmed.

ty!!

thank you!

really fun gameplay loop!

Very fun! I love all the game juice and effects. It can sometimes be hard to see things coming at you through the effects though.

Also really like the short tutorial

Very cute art!
