Last year, on the evening of July 29th, we launched the beta of Mayonnaise Hole! It's the biggest project I've undertaken and the start of what I hope will become a long career in game development. You've all exceeded my expectations by giving the game 435 unique downloads, 8 reviews (all 5-star!), and thousands of page views! On top of that, I saw many of you sharing the project with your friends on social media, competing for speed-run records, and streaming the game on Twitch! I can't thank you all enough for giving me support and sharing in the excitement.

I'd also like to thank Mustin for his hard work and dedication to the main soundtrack. Robbie Benson who's tracks weren't in the beta but will hopefully be revealed soon. Fangamer for their patience, resources, and belief in me. All my play testers who saw past the crude early stages and bugs, and encouraged me to continue chasing the vision we shared.

As we pass the 1-year anniversary, I'd like to give an update on the state of version 1.0. It is still in the works, but will not be released this year like originally planned. Development was put on hold in the middle of 2022 as I was re-allocated to a different project. That project has since proven to be much more work than anticipated and has required all my attention. I can't comment on the project itself or when it will be done, but I want you all to know that I still have full intention of returning to Mayonnaise Hole when it is complete. I'm excited to have more news for you all soon!

Thanks again for making the launch of the Mayonnaise Hole Beta a resounding success, and I look forward to where we'll be next year!

YIKES! That was scary to read, but I'm glad to hear your system was able to recover.

This seems to be a singular occurrence, and I can't say for sure what may have caused it. The only thing I can think of would be the creation of the game's save file causing some sort of hiccup with other systems while the game is first initializing. I'll make a note of this and try moving the save file creation to sometime after the game has started to run. Hopefully that way, there will be less processing right at the start.

Thanks for taking the time to post your experience!

Thank you for the kind words!

That's not cheating at all! I think as long as you're not inserting the packet by hand, it's fair game.

I love secrets as well and I hope you'll enjoy exploring more in the full version.

We have a wonderful community and I remember what it was like to watch yet still feel seperated from it all. We're lucky to have options now that let anyone from anywhere in the world join in and feel like they're part of a large group of friends. I'm very glad to hear you're enjoying the VRC worlds and hope you continue to make good memories there!

We appreciate the feedback!

Those are some good ideas for introducing the player to the concept of Mayonnaise Hole. I'll ponder on that some more and see how that could best be implemented in the future

Thanks again for posting!

That does indeed sounds like a bug, so I will add it to my list of To-Dos.

Thanks for posting, and congrats on making the first bug report! : )

Thank you, BubblyOasis! It was great seeing you in VR! : )

If you encounter anything in the game that you don't think is working as intended, please let us know about it here.

Hi, everyone!

First off, thank you all so much for checking out my game! It's my first time making a piece of software from the ground up. I'm really excited to finally get it out in the world and want to hear what you all think so I can make the final experience the best it can be!

Below, you'll find different topics for leaving your feedback, reporting bugs, and just discussing the game in general. After completing this open beta, it would help me greatly for you to leave a comment, no matter how small. I'll be reading them all and taking them into account as I continue working . Also, your engagement with the product helps show all of us at Fangamer how much interest there is in the project. Downloads, discussions here on the boards, and social media posts using the #MayoHole tag all directly help the game get the resources needed to reach a strong v1.0 launch later next year!

Thanks again for playing, and I look forward to hearing from you.
