I may hidden it to far into the level but you can find it by following green arrows, if you find some closed gates on your way then you have to sneak a little before you get wavepicker.
I'm sorry, you're not dumb. I think I made this part of the game too complicated and hard to understand or control. After the game jam I'm planning to simplify it, either by reducing the number of parameters the player has to manage or by adding some tools that make it easier to handle. I might even add an easy mode with only two parameters.
This prototype definitely needs more work, and I'm planning to keep working on it after jam.
