I feel like I'm watching two Danganronpa characters argue. Y'all are right and wrong about various things and are getting kinda heated over it. I just finished Trail 1 last night and want to discuss it so I'll throw in my two cents.

1. I agree with Tlittle that the time scale of Diana the Cosmetologist being in the basement doesn't make sense. Her story could have only been about 5 or 6 minutes as it currently stands. She spends a little time waiting for her eyes to adjust to the darkness before calling out to Wolfgang the Lawyer. He responds, she tries to help, and he lashes out at her. He goes on a rant for a bit before the explosion. That's not a lot of things to happen, so it could not have been long and doesn't match with the timescale of the rest of the case.

This is made somewhat worse because the story does give an explanation for why Diana was down there for so long, it's just that the explanation doesn't make any sense. The explanation given by the story is that Diana was trying to pick the lock on the door so she could escape. She was doing it blind in the dark and had no experience with lockpicking so she just kept trying til she got lucky. The explanation doesn't make sense because that would require a lot of time after the explosion and not before it. I think was some miscommunication or oversight as the rest of the writing is generally very quality.

2. I agree with Parece here. The blackmail does seem random. I think we only hear 4. Toshiko the Matchmaker's was a load of nothing from her childhood. Cassidy the Pro Gamer's was about a fear of spiders I think? (Weird that she's the spider of the cast) Desmond the Marksman's was a vague reference to that he has weapons. Lastly, Wolfgang's was a vague reference to how he's a wolf is sheep's clothing (fitting that he's the sheep of the cast). The only common thread is that they reflect poorly on the person they are tied too, and that all of them are... kinda weak? This makes sense though. Tozu admits that he got the idea from something Eva the Liar said when the cast were looking at their student profiles. Tozu handed out the blackmail the next morning so he clearly didn't put a lot of time into it. Combine this with his admission that it was hard to find actual good dirt on the characters and it only stands to reason that the blackmail is random and weak. He was probably twisting words to make mountains from molehills because he only had molehills.

3. I agree with both of you here on different parts. Parece is right that the cast had Eva dead to rights at the end of the trial. She was guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. She was the only one who could have possible dropped the battery and killed Wolfgang. Everything else is practically irrelevant at that point as it doesn't matter who stole what; Eva triggered the murder mechanism and is the killer. Nothing else truly needs to be answered.

Tlittle does have a good point in that a stone unturned is a plot point unfulfilled. Especially cause this plot point has a very easy explanation. She had access to the cameras because of the Traitor Perk. She could have just seen where everyone is, seen where the objects are in the rooms, and slipped in and out of the rooms in just a minute or two. Stealing the stuff would have been extremely easy for her.

4. This is just a repeat of 3. Does it actually need to be answered? Not really. There are plenty of places to hide a screwdriver and plenty of time to flip the lock over the several days especially with the aforementioned camera access. The details don't really matter. At the same time, including those details, even just educated guesses at them, would have been quite easy and satisfying to the player.

That's that. This was fun. Trail 1 has some flaws for sure and can be a bit unsatisfactory a times. I can't believe they killed Eva, one of the more interesting characters and the probable Eve of the Garden of Eden. However, it was over all very enjoyable and I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the game and specifically how it develops from this first chapter. Here's hoping Eden's Garden is successful and doesn't peter out into nothingness like so many other Fanganronpas.

They mentioned it very briefly, but yes, it was fired before hand to further frame Diana.

On the one hand, that sounds like a great work around that will make the base very pretty as well. On the other, unknowable cosmic horrors being backlit by Christmas lights sound hilarious and horrifying.

In short, I love this idea. I'll give it a shot.

Finished it last night. Amazing prologue. Set of a lot of mysteries and details and got me really interested in seeing how everything plays out. Looking forward to the rest of the game.

I haven't played Eternum yet so I cannot compare to it, but I can recommend Mist. It's another AVN here on itch. It was quite good. One of the few AVNs I've managed to finish, and wanted to pay for. The cast is small, (literally 6 characters, counting the MC) which leads to everyone having a great amount of depth. Some of the scenes, especially towards the end, are very emotional and investing.

Ah, cool, I was encountering the Zone 2 bug. Good to know it is fixed.

Lovely game so far. Clearly very early in development, but what is there promising.

The final turret doesn't drop the device needed to end the game for me, but that's probably part of the "Checkpoint/Respawn break the game" known issue. I also had some FPS trouble, but that got sorted after playing for a bit. (EDIT: Got it to drop by doing a no-death run. Not hard once I got use to it)

I love the novelty of playing in the GFL universe, and the enemies are good so far. Looking forward to more of that. The Dinergates are adorable.

Quick suggestions: let all T-dolls heal, and reduce recoil. T-dolls are well beyond what a human can do, so, to sell that fantasy, they should have really good recoil control. (Related Note: I love how we can kick doors of their hinges. That sells the fantasy)

Chapters 1 - 3 are separate downloads. Check the creator's games.

Pretty good. The character designs are on point, and the banter is excellent. The Non-stop debate is a bit rough, but very faithful to the original game.

Here's hoping the game isn't dead on arrival.

Extremely strong prologue for many reasons.

"It's a Monokuma!"

"Get his ass!"

It's exactly what I want from a post-Tragedy story and characters. Waiting for the full game is gonna be rough.

Pretty solid for a fanganronpa. Highlights and critiques below. Some minor spoilers.

But, uhhhhh, Lapse 2 when?

Things I liked:

-The first investigation being super short. “Here’s two clues! Good luck assholes!” It finally answers the question of “What happens when the killer doesn’t do an over elaborate murder plan?”

-Art style is good. It’s soft and pleasant. I like the art deco theming to the UI; it meshes well with the luxurious mansion.

- Trial 2 was hype as fuck.

- I’ve always thought that putting in bad ends where the player character is a victim would make Danganronpa more interesting. This game has proved that this is true.

-Lyle’s Roster portrait. I recognize a lot of the items on it.

-Lyle in general is a pretty great character.

-All the characters are great. Forte, Lyle, Missy and Eve were my favorites.

-Hope/Despair were talked about like a normal person would talk about them; as opposed to the over the top anime way the main series tends to do.

-The plot is slowly advance throughout the entire game, as opposed to the main games’ having massive plot dumps right at the end.

Minor Critiques:

-Some conversations change topics to quickly; most noticeable when the original topic was important to the situation. This is really only true for the prologue and chapter 1.

-Some motivations and reasonings are shallow/unclear.

-I like Zero Escape references, but the Chapter 3/4 thing was a bit much. In fact, I would out right call it bad.

-Investigations and trials could be fleshed out/expanded a bit more. This probably sounds little weird after I praised investigation one for having only 2 clues, but all of the trails could stand to have a bit more too then and/or tangential clues removed.

Lingering questions (These might seem minor, but this is a mystery game: every stray detail counts):

-Why was Echo so paranoid about Ashley walking by herself to her house, despite the walk being short and mundane?

-Why does no one question/worry about the fact that they were abducted and brought to the mansion? They all just go with it until Echo gets electrocuted for trying to leave for reasons other than being abducted. Same for the bracelets; did no one try to remove them?

Lyle, Forte and Pandora are so rude and blasphemous... They didn't know what the Funyarinpa was! How dare? >:(

For real tho, anyone that makes a Zero Escape reference is good in my book.

Just finished the game. Like others have said "Come for the tits, stay for the story." and I'm really glad I stayed.

The writing is awesome. All of the girls have real, unique personalities with their own quirks, skills, flaws and traumas. They all feel like real people.

The last... act, for lack of a spoiler-free way of saying it, has several really heartfelt conversations that really pulled me in and might have even had me falling for the girls. Robin and Mia in particular. They're my kind of gals.

If I had one complaint about the game, it would be that a few too many of those heartfelt moments turn into fuckfests a bit too abruptly. By that point in the story, I was in a "I don't want to be horny. I want to be happy." mood. If there was more of a separation between the touchy-feely emotional stuff and the, ahem, touchy-feely physical stuff, it wouldn't have been much of a problem.

So yeah, good game. I got the game for free, and I normally have a rule about never paying for something I can get for free. But I think I might just have to break that rule; I think the dev's earned my 15 dollars.

Man, I rescued the 2nd girl, and wow. Before I was enjoying my "Live with cute girl in cabin" game. Now getting my daily dose of despresso espresso. This got heavy.

So, I seem to not be getting any XP from fights, and it's kinda hamstringed my progression. I've reached the lodge but only have leveled up stamina twice and my attack once (and that was the free level up). Anyone have advice?

EDIT: Nevermind, the XP you get after a trip is the fight XP. I just didn't understand that. I should be able to grind a few levels now.

This game was made for you.

Cool, I guess I'll go ahead with MBIML for now, and then just balance them in the future. Thanks!

I know, right? When I thought it would end it just kept going! It was great.

Ep3 Title before finishing Ep3: "Ooooh spooky. :D"

Ep3 Title after finishing Ep3: *Genuine fear*

I gotta say, while the first two episodes are a little heavy on the trauma dumping, Ep3 makes up for it.

While I'm here, I got a question. I wanna play MBIML, but I hear it's a sequel to this game. I naturally want to play the first game to completion and then move on to the sequel. But given the update rate, it could take years for LCC to finish. My question is: How dependent is MBIML on LCC's story? Would it be bad for me to play them out of order, or are they standalone enough to not matter?
