The Steam Workshop has this addon and this addon specifically for this purpose
neither of them work for me but you could try lmao
(if you have the steam version)

If there is a certain palette that you want to use, but it has more than 50 colors, i suggest opening it in paint.net and using Color/Quantize and setting the colors to 50, then saving that

You will of course lose a lot of colors but it will keep the most important/prominent ones

the dither node seems to only pick from the first 32(?) colors from custom palettes

you can recreate this by using a larger color palette and rearranging its colors (invert/sort/whatever)

this is quite annoying if you want to use big palettes such as
