Thanks for playing my game! I completely agree with what you're saying. In level-based puzzle games, it's really hard to get the difficulty just right, especially during a time-limited game jam. I've made games that were too difficult in the past, so this time the pendulum definitely swung in the opposite direction =)
Nice puzzle game with Sudoku vibes. There's a really satisfying feeling when you solve a few early moves and then everything suddenly cascades and clicks into place.
Long tap / short tap controls were a bit confusing at the start, but I get that this is pretty standard for mobile games.
Also nice tactile feel overall: subtle click sounds, stylized effects, all that stuff works well and makes interactions feel good.
Thanks a lot for the feedback, I really appreciate it!
1 – Yes, it's a pun, so there's no description
2 – Parties are completely random, so this can happen. However, a no-damage composition can still be viable (for the player as well) if you can heal or shield enough and let fatigue kill the enemy
3 – At this point, yes; (you can resurrect dead ones with a potion, just in case)
1. Code can usually be reused; some people even use frameworks that already include many of the things you mention. What should be avoided is taking a game you've been working on for a long time and simply using the 7DRL challenge as a "release" for extra exposure.
2. You don't have to post the code or other 'proofs', this is a self-imposed challenge, not a competition. Some people share development logs here or on Discord. The most convenient way to submit a game is to make a WebGL build and post it on itch.io. Once the challenge starts, a "submit your entry" button will appear on the main page, where you'll fill out a form and include a link to your itch.io page.
