Hey everyone!

I've been developing a 2D arena-shooter game for over a year, inspired by Raze 2 and Strike Force Heroes, where all creatures can self-navigate the entire platformer map. The game emphasizes shielding and dashing.

I already have a fully playable prototype [Gameplay Footage] and have run a few playtests on Discord with positive feedback. I am targeting to finish a longer demo and release the demo on Steam by July.

I've currently been doing all the coding and art solo (digitally drawn, not AI generated).


What I'm looking for:
As I've entered the art polish phase (doing lots of redrawing and polishing), I'm looking for a long-term artistic partner who 1. enjoys playing similar game genres (ex. shooters, side-scrollers, metroivanias), 2. is interested in collaborating over the next 2-3 months to help complete the Steam demo. If the demo does well, we can partner up for the full release!

I'm offering the artist: 
 - Pay hourly ($25/hr) for the first 60 hours, and rev-share for further development.

I particularly could use help with drawing "semi-realistic 2D environment maps set on an alien world" (see existing map), but you'd have lots of creative freedom in what art you to work on (creatures, UI, etc.). I'm looking for an artist genuinely passionate about game-design. Someone driven who wants the creative freedom to impact the game, whether that's editing/adding to the existing story/lore, or helping brainstorm level design. I'm looking for an artist to partner up with long-term  if our initial paid collab goes well

Story/Lore:
The story has a serious tone. It explores topics like societal peace vs individual freedom and the inevitability of war. The game occurs on an alien-planet with several human-like creature species, but strongly focuses on 3 similar species that share a common ancestor. One of these species is extinct.

Marketing/Playtests:
I'm planning to run a 2nd round of playtests soon on the Game's discord, before I ramp up marketing efforts. First went well

Hey, I love the art in your game! Especially the falling leaves in the foreground and the use of bright lighting with dark backgrounds.
