Hi everyone! I’m a Korean student developer, and I’d like to share RIVERFALL: VELVET WAR, a game I’m developing with Lua and LÖVE.
Your poker hand is your loadout. Every card you reveal becomes two enemies.

You start at a table with two hole cards and three community cards. Your best five-card poker hand determines your combat buffs, while its highest card’s suit determines your weapon: a sword, bow, shield, or wand.

Then you leave the table and fight the cards you revealed in real-time, top-down combat. You can reveal more cards to chase a stronger hand—but that also means more enemies, and the shared cards can strengthen their combinations too.

During a run, you can:
- Enhance cards with seals and special effects.
- Collect relics and activate set bonuses.
- Choose routes through three stages with shops, events, elites, and bosses.
The playtest is free, with a browser version and a Windows download. Both English and Korean are supported. You’ll need a desktop keyboard and mouse.

The game is still in development, and I’m looking for feedback—especially on these questions:
- Does the tutorial clearly explain how your poker hand determines your weapon and buffs?
- Which weapons feel satisfying, weak, or difficult to use?
- Were any card effects or UI elements confusing?
If you encounter a bug, please mention whether you were playing in the browser or on Windows, along with what happened.
Thanks for taking the time to try my game!
