I really enjoyed this, the best thing is really the music in this case, which was a lot of in depth tunes that truly scared me deeply. The graphics, and the monochrome art really fit this, and I liked how its themes fit, and how much the husband wasn't all that different from his own shadow because he was already his true self to her, and that's why she had such difficulty in figuring out who she is. And how she can barely recognize her own shadow too. This is a much deeper story than I anticipated at least. And the shadow too, and the concept, and how there was a mob, and how she was perceived, in comparison to her mental state was starkly contrasted.

You know, this game is somehow both extremely expected, but yet, even when it got finally revealed, I was just quite sad at what was happening in the end, and in a way, I think Esfric did get his wish, where he got to travel as a bird, out of there. The exploration was a ton of fun, and the setup was genuinely creepy, terrifying.

The art style is nothing short of gorgeous, and the music being so soothing and calming, contrasted with the rather dark, almost grim. It's a dark mythic story in my opinion, although I'm quite happy that Leyna and the husband did get what they deserve in the end.

I had a playthrough of this too, on my youtube channel:

I did my best when it came to this game, but it just stopped at a point where I didn't know how to progress and then the game just hung. tried a few different ways but it just didn't. The art is gorgeous, and the music and atmosphere is, but I just can't rate it right now.

Such a fun, game, I like the strong meaning behind the symbolism of the story, it's definitely quite cheery, the dream shop is so fascinating as a concept, especially in how it was executed and combining it with dream interpretation was a very good if wild idea. I had a really fun time.

Here's my stream:

Thank you, I'm so glad that you enjoyed it a lot and thought the characters were really alive, I am planning on expanding that mechanic if I do make it a larger game, I had to cut it down since a lot of my ideas weren't working.

This was absolutely hilarious, Kirby, Tornacense, are such fun characters, and how basically the only reason why he does whatever Kirby wants is because he wants him to be a camera man. I have never laughed so hard, and so much of the dialogue is so so memorable that I read them out, it was just so much fun for me as a whole.

I cant recommend it enough, if one wants something that's genuinely more comedic than creepy, then this is the right game for you. I enjoyed it so much, and how the annoying streetboard preacher feels both funny and a major antagonist when played off Tornacense. I would definitely love to see them explore more cities, and see what they make of it. Or even for this game to get expanded. It was a ton of fun and I really enjoyed it.

Thank you, I'm so glad that you enjoyed it a lot! I'm glad to see that you would like to see more.

It's a really fun little story that I really enjoyed a lot, a nice chill game, and I've always been weak for bakery games as a whole, and this was really good. The characters all have their charms, although really, I liked Lydia most, when she is both lazy, mercenary and eager to dump work, but somehow seemed deeply aware of certain things. And Cain not being an idiot too also mattered a lot.

The idea of unlife, and the worldbuilding surrounding it was really well-thought out, I actually enjoyed it greatly, and thought it was charming and quaint, and how it's worked into the designs such as the chains, and the reapers being like some strange level of command over the ghosts as a whole and also responsbile for safeguardiung their soul sometimes.

The ending did surprise me, I was pretty much 100% expecting him to vanish and move on.

Here's the link to my playthrough of it.

I think I got all the way to the end, and pretty much got shut down in the end? It was fun, bizarre and at some point it just made me actually genuinely creeped out at what was happening if there was any. I did a whole stream of the playthrough on my Youtube.

Simon, Rhime was just utterly terrifying, for the most part, both in completely different ways, and the voice acting for this is pretty amazing. Simon was the best for how much that voice creeped me out and I wanted to punch him at a few times, lol, I was like, don't make me play Simon says, but somehow, I feel that if hangman was ever actually played, I'll come to regret it too.

The ending on my end was just surreal, and quite meta, very very meta is a much better word and term for it. Although I do feel that I regret playing this after I was just going through an entire week of little to no sleep so my reflexes are awful. And the moment where it kind of revealed what happened, and then Simon just goes all the way is just the best and most unnerving part where I can't even tear my eyes off from it from that point.

Amazing, don't play it when you're sleepy though, like me, or more like half asleep.

Thank you so much for checking it out and your kind words, and I'm glad you liked the concept, it's something that I can carry along, and even remaster the demo that I made as well. I'm really glad to hear that you're excited for future development too.

(1 edit)

Thank you so much for checking it out and your kind words, I'm so glad to hear that, I uploaded the wrong versions probably meant for another platform, thanks, I'm not surprised at the adult tag either. I'm glad that you really enjoyed  it a lot, and I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the story, as a writer, I was really nervous about this story too. I kind of conceived as a fairly episodic story, and the structure fit too.

I was using the windows downloaded version for it. I'll see if the browser version has the same error.

I really enjoyed this game a lot. The characters was charming, I really like Crowchild and I got quite a way in, the rhyming verses in the beginning had me cackling as it was so good to hear, and so funny. I find Quyen and Teddy really fun characters too.

 I had a really weird error midway through where I just didn't know why it froze and I wasn't able to click continue and play the game or pick either of the choices. I documented the error as I was streaming as I was playing it.

Thank you so much for your kind words, I'm the programmer for this, I'll take a  look at .exe file, issue, I built this using Unity, so it might have that limitations, but I'll see if I can make an .exe file with it,

I think they can't find your options file, aka it's not located in somewhere that's accessible by ren'py

You're welcome, glad to hear that.

This particular section in example_code.renpy

init python hide:

    import os.path

    import re

    # A list of files we will be scanning.

    files = [ ]

    for i in os.listdir(config.gamedir):

        if i.endswith(".rpy"):

            files.append(os.path.join(config.gamedir, i))

    for fn in files:

        fn = fn.replace("\\","/")

        f = renpy.open_file(fn)

        open_examples = set()

        for l in f:

            l = l.decode("utf-8")

            l = l.rstrip()

            m = re.match("\s*#begin (\w+)", l)

            if m:

                example = m.group(1)

                if example in examples:

                    raise Exception("Example %r is defined in two places.", example)

                open_examples.add(example)

                examples[example] = [ ]

                continue

            m = re.match("\s*#end (\w+)", l)

            if m:

                example = m.group(1)

                if example not in open_examples:

                    raise Exception("Example %r is not open.", example)

                open_examples.remove(example)

                continue

            for i in open_examples:

                examples[i].append(l)

        if open_examples:

            raise Exception("Examples %r remain open at the end of %r" % (open_examples, fn))

        f.close()

Hey, I found a fix. It has something to do with python backslash.

So, all you need to do is this:

fn = fn.replace("\\","/")
