Really enjoyed this one, nice work! :)

Thank you for playing! Yep, there is an intermittent issue with it! It's the first level causing the problem, so you can restart if you feel like and want to know how the story ends. You'd have to be pretty unlucky to have it happen twice in a row, but then I shouldn't jinx it! Trollmeister tells me there is an improved version ready to go so we will post an update after voting closes :)
Thank you so much for testing it! That is weird, it happened to me too, the first time I was playtesting. I tested quite a few times after and it was ok, so I thought maybe I missclicked or was too slow first time. I have a feeling it must be an intermittent bug then, glad you caught that - we will have a look for the next update.
This is a platform game in which you have to solve the mystery of what is going on. The game does not tell you what it is about at the start – you have to play through to work it out (won't spoil it here). The game would appeal to adults rather than children. In concept, the fun part is trying to solve the mystery about what is happening and experiencing the effects of the topic. In reality though, I could not get past the first door. I tried to click it and to jump over but nothing seemed to work. There is some nice looking artwork, but the speed of the flickering was distracting and the music does not seem to "match" with the game itself. I wandered to the left of the first level and got stuck having to jump a lot to move again. To improve, make control scheme clear. Add some feeling of progression. Fix bugs. Find a way to make it more obvious that the light sources relate to sound/waves. I would like to see the main character sprite have a walk/jump animation.
This is a story driven platformer about a boy called Kevin who is being bullied. When Kevin goes to sleep, he dreams about a world that is being slowly taken over by a dark wave and needs to jump upwards in the level to find a kind of portal to escape. I think this game would appeal to younger players who might experience bullying at school and who will appreciate the very "cartoony" art style.I really enjoyed the beginning of the game where the story was told through the use of the cutscene and thought there was good use of visual symbolism to tell the story prior to Kevin's dream. The game was extremely difficult to play, as I could not get onto the clouds to rise above the wave (the controls need to be more responsive). However I noticed that there was an unlimited double-jump which I used to simply "fly" up to the portal (e.g. going to the complete opposite end of the spectrum and making the game super-easy). At the start of the level I was trying to work out what to press for jump. I tried spacebar and this took me back to the cutscenes about the story (quite confusing). Although I get the metaphor of the dark wave as relating to the experiences of bullying, I did not get the metaphor of the portal as means to escape – so I am not sure this educates anyone about bullying. I would suggest for you to think about ways to stop bullying – tell a teacher or something? (do some research about it) Maybe you can replace the portal with something that is related to that? A phonebox? Door to headteacher's office? Although I know it is a wave because I have spoken to you, the wave itself probably needs to be animated or something to make it clearer what it is -- at first sight it could be floor, a dark cloud or anything! The game could also be improved further with the addition of sound effects and music to help build the feeling of tension as the wave get closer to engulfing the player. A wider selection of animations on the main character would be good. Standing still, walking, jumping. At the moment even when the player is mid-air their legs are moving as if they are walking.
This is a top-down survival shooter with a sci-fi/horror theme. Really humorous and innovative concept where computers are coming to life as zombies and trying to kill you :) This game has broad appeal to anyone who enjoys top-down shooters/horror games, however it wouldn't appeal much to people who are into lore as story hasn't been fully incorporated yet. If the story was developed more, I think it would also appeal to people who like comedic games too. The game is easy to play, although when I got to the second level (through the portal) my shooting ability seemed to stop. Not sure if this was a bug or if it was supposed to be that way (e.g. if limited ammo or something, would be nice to have some feedback through HUD to tell me that). It would be even better if the player walk was animated. I like the sound of the dial up modem. Maybe some music to add to the sense of tension/atmosphere? Things to improve the game: The start screen contains information about the controls, but for some reason in the resolution I played, the sound mute option controller was on top of the instruction text. Incorporate some story and some visual feedback about the player state e.g. ammo, health, etc. Overall though, I really like the concept and look forward to seeing it developed further!
- This is a 2 player version of the classic snake game. The aim of the game is to survive as long as you can and get the most points while communicating with the other player to control the snake. This game would have broad appeal to anyone who enjoys retro, puzzle games.
- The fun factor of this game is that it becomes quite difficult to control the snake when two players are involved as they have to communicate and respond quickly in order to get the food and not die. It would be good to have some information telling me that the game is meant to be controlled by two players (and not just that you can play with two as an option).
- There is no artwork. The game doesn't always look right depending on the resolution. There is no music or sound in the game. If I could add two things to improve this game further, I would add sound and music and make clearer the objectives and the idea that it is meant to be 2 player. A final thing could be to add some more interesting graphics while still maintaining the retro feel.
