Hey Caquitto, thank you so much for playing, and even more for taking the time to write this. Honest feedback is by far the most valuable thing I can get at this stage, so it really means a lot to me.

On both points you raise, I completely agree with you. Music and VFX are absolutely on my list. My honest answer is that I haven’t found the right assets yet: for the soundtrack I’m looking for an ambient track that can loop through a long session without getting tiring, plus something with real punch for the fights, and so far nothing I’ve tried has felt right. Same story for the VFX polish. I’d rather take the time to find the right thing than ship something that clashes with the rest of the game.

As for what’s coming next, I have plenty planned. A few teasers:

a real world map you travel across freely, Fallout 1/2 style, with places to discover and encounters on the road, instead of the current region menu

hero levels and XP, so your character grows on its own and not only through the gear you find

a lot more item variety, to open up many more viable builds

Thanks again for the kind words, it’s great to hear you had a good time with it.

Solo indie developer, and this is my first game.

Panoplia is a heroic-fantasy loot game: fight, collect gold and sometimes a piece of gear, open boosters, equip the best of your loot on your hero, fight harder. A simple loop, to repeat and to optimise.

Every booster is guaranteed at least one rare. Four hero paths to start with (Paladin, Witch, Scout, Summoner), and a world map that keeps turning while the game is closed.

A quick, honest word about who's behind this: I'm not a professional developer. I quit my job, and I've poured that time into making games, something I've always dreamed of doing. Panoplia is my first one, no grand ambitions, just a solo, passion-driven project built with more heart than skill. I come from the IT world and have a lot of respect for the developer's craft, but leaning on AI to write the code is, unfortunately, the only way I have to make what I love. Every image, icon and sound in Panoplia, though, is hand-made or properly licensed from real artists: no AI-generated art (full credits on the page). I just wanted that to be clear and out in the open.

Public beta: complete and playable, still being balanced and filled out. If you give it a try, your feedback in the comments is genuinely what moves it forward. Thanks for reading this far.

Merci d'avoir lu jusqu'ici.
