EVAC is a finished 2.5D helicopter rescue game for the browser, and the full source code is now on itch.io.
Fly out across three theatres (desert, jungle and winter), blast the barracks open and land beside the door, never on it. Then get the hostages home through jets, tanks, flak and homing air mines. The tension isn't in the shooting; it's in the landing.
Play it free in your browser first: https://evac.ecce.games
Source code, $15: https://eccegames.itch.io/evac
What's in the zip:
- The whole game: about 37,000 lines of plain JavaScript and three.js, no build step needed to run it
- Every model, effect and sound made in code, so there are no third-party asset licences to worry about
- Keyboard and twin-stick touch controls, and it installs as a PWA
- Automated Puppeteer tests for flight, missions, rescue, touch and pacing
- A licence to build and sell your own games with it (just not to resell the source)
How it was made: EVAC is vibe-coded. I wrote the brief, set the rules and played every build; AI coding agents wrote the code, and a critic agent checked each round before it was kept. If you've wondered how a vibe-coded game holds together under the hood, this is the whole thing.
Happy to answer questions about the build in the comments.
