You certainly raised an interesting issue! It's quite difficult to explain, actually, but I'll try my best anyway!

As you said, this is ultimately a romance game. Therefore, the story will first branch into four different routes / storylines based on which love interest you're closest with (or perhaps most suspicious of!) at the end of the common route (around the point where the demo ends). After that, the game will offer different choices that then determine your ending. While the common route offers choices that mostly require the player choosing a suspect / love interest to focus on, after the player ends up on one character's route, the choices will change and follow a particular theme special to that route. Some choices will be mystery-oriented, some will be romance-oriented, while some will be mixed. Endings are not dependent on only the romance-oriented choices and how much of a relationship you've built up with your chosen partner. Therefore, we can safely say that you cannot only focus on the romance with the chosen love interest in order to get the "happy" ending!

However, we should also be clear upfront that while there will be choices similar to the common route where Elvira can choose different targets to investigate or recruit for help, this game is a romance game first and foremost rather than a detective game. Therefore, while the story will change and adapt according to the player's choices, for most endings, the murder mystery will be resolved, and the murderer will be revealed. If you're disappointed by this answer, hopefully this next small reveal will make it a bit better: The murder mystery is a lot more complicated than just whodunit, so each route will reveal a different portion of the mystery (as well as possible side mysteries, e.g. has anyone wondered why Elvira shares such a striking resemblance with Lydia?). Hopefully, only after playing all four routes at least once will the player be able to piece together the whole big picture and answer all the questions that were left unanswered in individual routes.

As for your question about whether there will be bad endings available -- it highly depends on what you consider as bad endings. We personally do not believe in making a game where we offer choices to players but there's a "right" and "wrong" choice, so that too many "wrong" choices will lead to a "bad" ending / game over to "punish" the player, where e.g. MC or love interest dies or love interest rejects her love. Instead, we aim to create games where all choices are worth exploring and there is no "wrong" answer, so all endings are "true" in a sense. However, we can promise that there will certainly be darker endings and angst-filled endings, which may or may not include at least one ending where Elvira fails (or, rather, chooses not to?) solve the murder mystery. ;) I can't say much more on this, unfortunately, or else I would give away too many spoilers! :)

Sorry about the word vomit! I kind of went on a ramble there. I'm not sure if my answer even addressed your queries properly. OTL Apologies if my reply was completely off-topic. Feel free to come back and raise more questions again! I'd be very happy to answer them.

Ahh... We thought we caught all the typos and pronoun errors OTL So sorry about that! We'll try to comb through the script again after our exams to try and weed out the remaining pesky errors. (Omg, same actually lol. My mother language generally defaults to the masculine pronoun when referring to someone, so I do get tripped up in my head when writing gender-neutral pronouns sometimes xD I'm working on it OTL)


The endings for each character are arranged in terms of difficulty to get :) So #1 is easiest, with the #4 hidden ending being (supposedly) hardest. Surprisingly enough, for all routes, the #2 ending is the most romantic/happiest one? So yep, you got the happiest ending for Lyall.

As mentioned before, Lyall's route is mainly made up of two points: determination and patriotism. So for hidden ending, make both as low as possible. For #3, be kinda fatalist and not patriotic. For #1, be super patriotic and determined. It should hopefully be easy enough to figure out which choices correspond to which points.

Yep, we have a walkthrough on Patreon. We considered your suggestion, but I think in the end we would prefer not to just sell the walkthrough on here for $1. It doesn't quite feel right because we offer the official walkthrough as a reward to Patrons who support us for $1 a month rather than just a straight up sale-and-purchase. Even if some may only intend to pledge for a month just to get that walkthrough so the amount of money we get is the same, I guess we just feel like it's better to keep it as an exclusive reward for Patrons who have shown us so much support and love ^^ I hope that makes sense, and sorry about that! Haha.

Ah, we're aware that some antivirus programs tend to flag new Ren'py games as viruses, though yours will be the first report that we've heard of for AIRIS. All the anti-virus softwares we have access to have reported our game as clean, so we don't believe it's an issue on our end with the game files. If you still want to play and you are comfortable with doing so, you can choose to whitelist the game in your antivirus. But if you are concerned and would rather not do that, then we don't really have any other suggestions (maybe report to Norton for false positive?)

We currently offer a full walkthrough PDF on our Patreon for $1, but it's by no means necessary to get the endings! I'll give you some detailed tips that should be more than enough to help you get Kylan's 3rd ending ^_^


Try balancing affection points with Kylan and your devotion to the country/protecting its people. Both points need to be at least 50%. In some choice menus, the choices for the two points are mutually exclusive! So try to balance both – alternate so that this time you choose an answer that is sweet to Kylan, but next time you choose an answer that is focused on your guild/country/people.

Additional tip: Focus on affection fully in the last portion of the route (particularly from the prison cell scene onwards). For the first half of the route, do more choices leaning towards being selfless and righteous.

One more thing! Affection points wise, it isn't just about saying the sweet/romantic things to Kylan, but also about trusting him and thinking like he would (hint: what kind of personality does Kylan have? Manipulative and curious)

We're glad to hear you like Lyall's route ^_^ Ah yes, a few players have also reported difficulty in getting other endings for Lyall. We have actually uploaded a new version (v.1.2) that should make the endings easier to get, in case you haven't downloaded that! We didn't have time to fully test how hard it is to get the endings before release (since NaNo deadline), so apologies for that >_<

In case you are already on v.1.2 but still encountering difficulties, we offer a full walkthrough PDF for the game on our Patreon for $1 a month, but otherwise, I can give some tips! For 2nd ending, I believe you should try to


a) keep the points for how much determination you show towards life and your tasks on the low side but not TOO low. So for choices that you feel will affect the determination, alternate between choosing the determined one and the less-determined one
b) choose the patriotic answers and show more respect towards the king

The first 5 choices determine which route you end up on, but after you lock in your route, your choices do have an effect on the personality of the MC. Unfortunately, they are limited in the sense that you can't determine if your MC is an outgoing extrovert or introvert through your choices, but you can affect how the MC's attitude towards various things e.g. Choices in Everea's route determine MC's attitude towards the rules of the guild and the authorities/king, choices in Kylan's route affects her attitude towards persisting in her cause to protecting the country and how much she cares about other people/selflessness. This also affects the ending you get at the end of the route based on her changes in attitude.

Ooohhh yes, I believe someone in the comments have previously mentioned that as well. That was definitely not intended. The house she left for was supposed to be the house her parents left her after their deaths (which, because of her mom's rather recent death, she still doesn't feel like the house is hers but her parents). It was supposed to be a subtle way of suggesting how she misses her parents/mother in particular, but I messed up, and it became a hilarious epic fail instead. OTL I'll find time to fix that and re-upload after we are done with NaNo!

Some of the dialogue for Luke is intended to sound more formal and the conversation may be stilted because I was trying to portray his Literature student side and his unfamiliarity with casual social interactions because he's generally a quiet observer. However, for Val/Aaron and probably some of Luke's are probably not intended to be forced xD So I'll definitely keep your critique in mind for our next game. Hmm, the place you described where the game crashed is the exact place where the bug I found, though for me, when it gets to that spot, it gives me an error that I can click Ignore on. Can you try downloading the new version (v1.1) from Itch.io and see if you can get past that point without the game crashing? This new version fixes that bug I caught, so it might also fix the problem for you.

About the crash: Would you mind giving some details about exactly where that happens? Can you describe the problem as well -- does the game just suddenly close on you, or does it give you an error? If so, what does it say?

Edit: I think I know why >_< Mistake on my part omg. I'll be uploading a new fixed version as soon as possible. For now, just click Ignore a few times when the error comes up and you should be able to keep playing. It doesn't affect much, you'll probably miss one or two lines of dialogue only.
