I liked the art style a lot and the pixel art for the characters/ghosts were really well made. As for game-play I liked it a lot you pick up a knife and have the option to stab as many ghosts as you want before leaving effectively giving you a high-score mechanic.
I also really enjoyed your voice acting as it was really silly and funny to hear when the ghosts die.
Overall really great keep up the good work and I would like to see more levels in this game.
This horror games style fits perfectly with the Tim Burton description you were going for and I liked it a lot.
The art itself looks really good and the hand drawn parts work perfectly to set the scene to create a great horror atmosphere.
As for game-play I really enjoyed the difficulty ramp up and the different crystal upgrades you could buy with fragments to help you on your adventure into more difficult levels.
Great game I think you could work on this more and make it a paid experience.
Hey I just played through your game and I have a couple of things to say about it.
First I like the art style a lot. The pixel art is very well made and all sprites seen in the game fit into a dark woods horror theme.
Second the game play is really simple and easy to learn. Simple platform controls allowing you to jump and dodge evil creatures that live in the wood.
As for improvements I could suggest I would say add more animation to the game. For instance giving the park ranger main character a walk, idle and jump animation as it would make him look a lot more alive. I could also suggest maybe adding sound/music or maybe even a jump-scare when you die. Pretty solid little game.
Just so you know when I made it to the finish the game bugged and instantly restarted so I could not see the end screen.
I thought Adam's game was a really unique and refreshing experience. His game is a platformer where you use a boomerang to press buttons and solve puzzles and I like that idea a lot. The level design of making the player think on how to use the boomerang to come back towards the player to press buttons and solve puzzles is really explorative. As well as the powerup allowing you to throw the boomerang in another direction being a great power allowing you to solve more puzzles. Overall I think with some bug fixes and some more levels this game could be a really amazing adventure.
I thought Alex's game was a short but sweet little adventure. You spawn in as a stickman and have to grab a key, unlock a door and the jump over a pit to reach a happy sunflower for victory. the game has some screen filters such as static to make the experience have quite a strange and monochromatic feel to it that makes it have some fear factor that I like. The monster man in the pit is also very scary and when you fall in you get a little jump-scare which I think adds a little bit more fear factor to the game. Overall pretty soild I rate it a PEGI 12 3/5 stars.
This game was ok I guess. The game does not really have an ending and does not really have many options however, the sprites for this game look really solid. I think you could make this game bigger and better by adding even more sprites. I would suggest you try uploading the game as a html file a I would like to play the game in browser.
I liked this adventure game. It has so many options to choose from that impact the game. I liked how some of these endings or options have funny results sometimes, defiantly adds humor to the game. Great game only one problem though, even though the game works well without it a fullscreen button would be nice.
I found this a lot of fun to play. I loved the optional difficulty as this allows unskilled players to learn get better and then play a more difficult challenge. I also loved the simple art direction as I think sprites such as yellow cubes having makers above them to show danger. Overall if you want to improve anything maybe just add more detailed sprites such as turning a yellow block into a animal or something.
