Howdy, y'all!
This week I will be creating another episode, highlighting the intricacies of the website! Specifically, I want to look at some of the new updates surrounding combat and receiving loot after the conclusion of a combat scene, and the VTT!
Monday the 20th, I will have another let's-play, carrying over Episode 2 where the Campaign Mode will be in full highlight for all to see! I'm excited to see y'all there :)

New patch notes will be coming out soon.
This week was a little busy with life (it was my four year anniversary with my wife... so, you know -- priorities).
The Online function of the website is still being updated, refined, and improved. Future patches may include new endgame material, and challenges for Solo players so be on the look out.
As a reminder, all these patches are available for those who have purchased the website. There is already a ton of content on the free version, so if you're tied up on cash, enjoy what's already there!

Howdy! This website combines aspects of all products I've created. It allows you to explore the Province and the Sea from Beyond: The Light, but added the Galaxy and Planets from the Stars as well as the weapon upgrades from that book.
Regarding Beyond: The Obsidian Veil, a lot of the "Endgame" content I added references material from that book.
So it's a bit of a hodgepodge of all that I've done in the recent years.
I hope this helps :)
Hey everyone,
First — thank you for your support and interest in BEYOND: The Light. It genuinely means a lot.
I wanted to take a moment to be transparent about where the project is headed. I'm a solo creator, which means development moves at my pace, but that also means every update is something I've personally built, tested, and cared about.
My focus going forward is on continuing to improve the online version: refining the user experience, squashing bugs, and expanding features over time. I'm committing to a weekly patch cadence. Updates and fixes will roll out every Friday, so you'll always have something to look forward to at the end of the week.
These won't always be massive releases. Some Fridays it'll be a handful of targeted fixes; others might bring something more substantial. But the goal is consistent, reliable progress, and keeping you in the loop every step of the way.
If you have feedback, run into issues, or just want to share what you'd like to see, I'm always listening. This project grows because of you.
See you Friday.

Howdy!
The app is fully usable offline for local/single-player features.
For Campaign mode with a GM + multiple players, it currently uses my hosted online service, so an internet connection is required for that part.
So to be transparent:
- Offline mode: works without any backend connection.
- Online Campaign/multiplayer: requires connection to my website/backend (not LAN/direct peer-to-peer at this time).
- Updates: offline users unfortunately cannot use or download the updates manually, as that requires a level of coding that I have yet to have the patience to do, but some newer/ongoing features are web-connected and available through the online version.
As a solo developer, using the online service is how I can ship improvements, patch issues, and support premium features sustainably.
Additionally, there are some functionalities that aren't present in the offline version that are available in the online version. For instance, any major updates or patches will be accessible online.
I am already working on enhancing the accessibility options to include different languages such as Spanish and Portugese that won't be available in the offline version, or what you see as available on itch.io.
Howdy! Yes, this can be run offline. However, for those who want to run a Campaign, and have multiple people in their server, there is a website to do that. I'll be creating a video on how to do that with your friends and how the "Campaign" mode functions when running it as a GM versus a Player.
I hope that answers your question!
Beyond: A Companion App
May 20, 2026
Years ago, I built a game called "Beyond: The Obsidian Veil" this game married the concepts of what I appreciated about TTRPGs and decided to promote my own TTRPG through the M.A.D. System, focusing on the opportunity of Solo-Play due to the constraints I had during the COVID era. However, now I have developed new concepts and games and.... soon to be my own companion app which will be aired in late June, Early July through Shadows of Archonia. Suffice it to say, I am proud to be working on this creative project for the last few weeks. If you're curious to read how the game works, check out the small reference card I created below. If you're interested in watching a live play, go watch it here or if you're interested in buying some of the games, go check it out here
For those curious I have:
Each run the M.A.D. System which asks you to roll your Action Die against the Dread Die. Roll equal to or higher than the Dread to Succeed. Rolling the the highest number on a die is a Critical Success and Explodes the die! Roll again and add the new roll as a bonus. Keepp rolling and adding on further explosions. Simple, right?
